The purpose isn't to utilize Beanie out there obviously. They motion Beanie to that spot with the sole purpose of trying to get an advantage on the defensive personal on the field.
I doubt you'd see a team send a nickel package in to defend Beanie in the backfield. So you put Beanie in the backfield, get 3 LB's on the field, motion him out wide, send Boeckman into shot-gun and try and exploit the weakness.
It would be interesting if we could motion out a guy like Lamaar Thomas so that threat is real. We tried with Mo Wells against Texas, but he just didn't have the hands.

Break down the plans...tell me why the offense chose certain formations. What did they hope to exploit? Why didnt it work? Why did it work?
Instead of simply saying, "Its terrible..." look at it...dissect it.
Can you do that or are you just one of those guys that sees winning and losing as the only measure of success?
The offense rolls, its because of talent. It goes stagnant, its because of Tressel?
That makes zero sense.

I would love to break down my reasons, but I dont have the time nor desire.
But I will say this, the offense can roll with bad coaching purely due to the talent.
Talent cant always carry the team though (see LSU and Florida games) and its at these times when the coaches need to step up and get the team rolling again (and they didnt).
One final comment and the final stat sheet from the NC game says it all. LSU had around 8 guys get carries, and around 9 guys record receptions in the game. OSU had 3 and 4, respectively.
We have talent, its time to use it.

A stat line is your main argument?
I'd rather hear you break down formations for us...let's talk some X's and O's.

Well, yeah.
My argument is that there is no creativity in playcalling, and that not spreading the ball around makes the already vanilla offense that much more predictable, and that stat line proves that point.

I guess creativity is my sticking point...what is creative to people? What level do we need to get to for it to be creative? JT threw out a few wrinkles...but do we need the Pole Cat like Tennessee (Titans) started out with last week?
I think you can have some gimmicks for sure...but I also think you have a bread & butter scheme that you live with.
I definitely would have loved to have seen some things, but I really don't think it is as bad as you are saying...
