Here's an idea: How 'bout more INT's This Year??Can it happen?

Last year we seemed to be awesome at stopping the run but we didn't seem to lay the wood on the QB and/or receivers and get enough T/Os. I'm hoping that under Coach Snyder we pop the ball up in the air a little more and let all these athletes set up the "O" a little bit more.

These are the things GREAT TEAMS do with regularity.

Thoughts to share on this football issue? (I'll save my sililoqies for later.)

Slick, I agree that is an ideal thought but with the mutiple blitz scheme tOSU favors, many times the secondary is left in Cover 2 or even Cover 1. Neither of these schemes lead to the frequent deflected INTs to which you refer. Defense is basically pick your poison by sitting in a thick zone(Covers 3&4) or bringing extreme heat and relying on that pressure to cause a quick or errant throw while hoping your DB's athleticism holds down the fort...tOSU prefers the former

I think our defense will be better over all this year. The great balance between the line, the LB's and the DB's will create more turn overs. I am confident that we will have many interceptions this year; my prediction is...

Fox - 2 to 4
EJ Underwood - 3 to 5
Whitner - 3 - 5
Salley - 2 to 3
Everett - 2 to 3
Ginn - 2 to 3
Youboty - 3 to 4
Linebackers - 3 to 5
Total = 20 to 32

I think, with our intelligence (which is fully disregarded by the world at large) that we will be exceptionally close to having a pro-caliber defense at all times and we will henceforth have the ability to both smackdown bitches as well as take advantage of them, ergo, allowing our offense the opportunities for the same kind of maturity that our defense has played a part in over the past two years.

(I know crazy talk at this point... but our skill on Offense is beginning to stack itself up.... Defense has been stacking up for some time... but offensively, the talent is beginning to get almost as sick as the "D". People can deny this. But they can also cry in their sleep, and that won't do them much good either.)

I'm drinking...so take it easy, now. I'm drinking.

PS. This is not relevant, but, I think everyone of our defensive players will get drafted from this year's team.

Offense: Who knows at this point but it looks pretty good thus far for them too.

I know they're not all first rounders..... but defensively... we've got some potiential.

I believe we will have more ints, alot of that will be because of the pressure and the lack of experienced quaterbacks on most of the big 10.

Any time you take a risk, you give the other team opportunity. I like the way the games have been called. You can't argue with the results.
