I didn't even know Vince had his own soup. If he's on the label with his uniform on, isn't that an NCAA violation?

I'm not going to answer this question until next year when both players are seniors. Vick has played in 8 games while Troy has played in 12. Vick's numbers are inflated slightly by the competition and, if I'm not mistaken, by the (I think) 8 home games they've had. It feels like 7 of those have been Thursday nights and broadcast by The official network of Virginia Tech: ESPN to showcase their new 'Michael Vick-cam.'
It kills me everytime the announcers say, "At this point in their respective careers, Marcus is a better passer than Michael was." I don't know if anyone has ever seen Michael throw a football, but at any point in their careers it is evident to me that Marcus is already a superior passer than Michael ever will be. Marcus has unbelievable touch for a first year player.

shhhh, thats how we pay our players, we give them soup contracts under the table.
seriously though, at this point in their careers, I would lean towards troy smith over vick. I do however think that both of them have a chance to be special

i dont want to be harsh about it but i still just do know see a quality team they play. he has a field day almost every week on the ground and air agianst some pretty bad teams(including texas tech and colorado). the one good team you guys played this year(us), he showed that he definitely improved this year passingwise but he still just isnt up to par with other people. leinart, stanton, etc are still better qb's in my opinion. true young beat us with his arm but so have other qb's and they have had even better stats in the process. young didnt have the rushing field day against us and he made some really bad calls in the game against us such as his picks. i will give the guy credit he did improve his game through the air this year but i see him as a randle el at the next level. im sure he will keep it up and tack some more numbers on but im interested in seeing how he does against USC so i am kind of eager for that matchup. suppose we will see for sure how good he really is vs USC.

I can't really say anything to that because the big twelve is obviously down, but i don't think you can call tech and colorado bad teams. Are they great, no but come on colorado has only lost twice and that was to the #2 and #3 teams in the nation and tech has only lost to the #2 team.

but he still just isnt up to par with other people

well the stats do not support your opinion as he is a top 5 rated passer and has better than a 2:1 TD to Int ratio. I really think that you are either blinded by his release or stubborn or both.

given USC's woes on defense, that will hardly be a measuring stick. VY is not a "great" passer, but he has become a good one. Marcus Vick was worshipped all year for less proficient passing. VY will make it to the NFL as a QB. Whether he remains one at that level is unknown.

I'm still not sold on the slash and burn type quarterbacks. I understand why everyone is looking for the next Michael Vick type because they create a defensive nightmare, but how many of these type's of QB's win NC's or excel in the NFL. I think TS and lil Vick are above average QB's, but not the type of QB I would want running a team I coached. Just my opinion though. I like the drop back type QB's like a Joe Germaine with some mobility over the new mobile QB's anyday.
