Greatest need for improvement....
Don't know if this is discussed in another thread somewhere, but our red zone offense is horrendous. Our offense could be scary good (bordering on that now in last 3 games) if we could punch in TDs from inside the 10

Note to "Our Offense sucks" enthusiasts, this is how you make something looking like an argument. Since, it happens to be true that OSU's RZ O has been relatively bad at producing points this year. Although, I'd prefer if there was some data to look at, which I don't have.

I'd say this is the theme of about 1/5th of all Buckeye threads posted since the middle of the 2003 season. Welcome to Tressel ball. I was in a great place to spot line play yesterday... row 32 of C deck on the north goal line. I still can't figure out if it's the line play, the halfbacks, or the entire offensive scheme, but when you have to work as hard as we had to to run against a 1 - 7 team you're not ready to go up north and play for the league title.

Greatest need for improvement....
1. Turnover margin. The defense needs to create turnovers and of all three units I never thought I'd hold my breath with the special teams being TD-or-bust under Jim Tressel. This is a complete 180 from how the 2002 team played.
2. Second greatest need for improvement is the fan base. How anyone can get on a message board the day after the team thumps a conference opponent by 38 points, scoring on seven consecutive drives ... and complain about the offense is beyond me. 526 total yards and people still find new things to complain about.

I was in the stadium listening to a running commentary from the guys behind me about how bad TS is and how great JZ looked when he came in! Where's that emoticon of the happy face banging its head against a wall?
