Greatest need for improvement....
Don't know if this is discussed in another thread somewhere, but our red zone offense is horrendous. Our offense could be scary good (bordering on that now in last 3 games) if we could punch in TDs from inside the 10

Note to "Our Offense sucks" enthusiasts, this is how you make something looking like an argument. Since, it happens to be true that OSU's RZ O has been relatively bad at producing points this year. Although, I'd prefer if there was some data to look at, which I don't have.

Greatest need for improvement....
1. Turnover margin. The defense needs to create turnovers and of all three units I never thought I'd hold my breath with the special teams being TD-or-bust under Jim Tressel. This is a complete 180 from how the 2002 team played. 2. Second greatest need for improvement is the fan base. How anyone can get on a message board the day after the team thumps a conference opponent by 38 points, scoring on seven consecutive drives ... and complain about the offense is beyond me. 526 total yards and people still find new things to complain about. ![]() |

Greatest need for improvement? Kickoff coverage.
We've got one guy doing his job and the other ten are just running windsprints. Are you kidding me? 16 touchbacks in a row! ![]() |

Geatest need - that hell will freeze over and Smith will look for a secondary receiver.. instead of locking on and telling the entire defense who he is throwing to

I'm much happier with how the offense has looked recently; however, we still need more consistency. We also need to work on creating turnovers on defense, this just hasn't happened much this year. Pass coverage has been a little soft at times too, I think sometimes the corners don't find the ball quick enough

Redzone Offense hands down. We've settled for probably 8-10 fieldgoals inside the 20 yard line this year, and more than half of them have been inside the 10 i'd guestimate. If you throw in TURNOVERS inside the red zone, well then we could tack on another what, 4 or 5 trips inside the red zone without a TD?

NJ, I have to say, Smith checked down pleanty of times yesterday. Easier to do when you've got time to throw.

We are a good football team that has lost to better football teams. Let's see if we respect NU enough to play hard and execute. WRT scUM, that's a roll of the dice and we all know why. |

UGA, tempering the stats of the last several weeks against acknowledgement of who OSU has played is noble, but I'd also like to point out that other offensive juggernauts, USC, Texas, etc. have played schedules of the same calibur, if not worse.
