Now come on... the 110 is entertaining. Totally different style and all, but nonetheless entertaining. Either way you look at it, both bands are very good at what they do. Not sure that either band would be good at what the other does though. God forbid ever hearing TBDBITL playing "Long Train," or "Unskinnybop." I'd have to puke. But I do enjoy hearing the 110 do it.
Being alum of both schools, I'm very much looking forward to this game. You can poke fun at the 110 all you want but surely you must understand that in Athens, people go to games to watch the band and drink. In Athens, the band is THE ATTRACTION. In Columbus, the band is part of the game day experience. Having enjoyed both, I'd have it no other way at either school.
Anyhow, as far as the game goes, it's going to be a fun one. Packing up my dad and my two boys for the game. Hope to start a tradition and have some great memories.

If this is anything like the Northern Illinois game, there won't be time for the OU band until after the game. Too much going on pre-game and halftime to get them on the field. Despite the blowout there was still around 20-30 thousand that stayed to watch the NIU band. More than one of their home games.

The Marching 110 will most likely be playing after the game. I'll take that. I think they'll also be involved in OU festivities on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Help clear the fog away from my memory......wasn't it Ohio U that brought suit against OSU for the right to be called THE Ohio University, since they are both state universities?
I seem to recollect that there was a law suit where OU wanted to prohibit OSU from calling themselves The OSU or somesuch.....want to say that the courts laughed the OU folk out of the courtroom, but not sure.
The other schools seem to enjoy poking fun at tOSU or THE OSU monikers, so wanted to have some ammunition to return the volley. Thanks and a tip of the hat!

Ohio State formally filed the lawsuit. That, however, was only after OU's lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to Ohio State to stop using traditional athletic and cheerleader outfits that had said "Ohio" going back to the 20's. So yes, we technically started the lawsuit...a lawsuit we never wanted to fight...only because FredOU got a petty bug up its insignificant little ass and sent us a cease and desist letter.
I'm not sure how the lawsuit ended. I believe FredOU earned the right to copyright "Ohio" but that Ohio State retained the right to continue using traditional uniform designations if they chose to do so. Whatever the result, it doesn't really matter. Let them have their little victory. We're crushing FredOU in the things that really matter.
It's funny how badly they cling to their being older as some point of pride. If I were them, I wouldn't want to advertise it too loudly seeing as it just points to the fact of how poorly the state leadership felt about them 140 years ago in deciding to pass them over and found a new university to be the state's flagship institution.

I love reading their forums -
Citing loses to Illinois, LSU and Florida, Bobcat fans feel they may be able to beat us....

The sad thing is that when Tressel, out of some genuine and heartfelt (though I view it as misguided) love of "Ohio football," takes the boot off their throats twelve minutes into the second quarter, allowing FredOU to make the game seem far closer than the reality of the talent on the field would truly dictate, those sick big brother hating jack offs will do a pathetic victory dance about how "close" they came to knocking off their big brother.
