Let's see. We have the two older brothers viewed as inadequate by Ohio's political and business leadership of the 1860's...they're passed over for the leadership role and forced to watch their younger brother put in charge...subsequently, they are given insignificant, secondary roles away from the family's center of power...their diminished role and stature leads them to seethe in bitterness and jealousy over being passed over...in the 1960's they make their move at reclaiming the throne by teaming up with a staunch (and politically powerful) rival of the younger brother...the attempt to seize power, while causing temporary turmoil to the younger brother's operations, ultimately fails, and the older brothers are crushed in retaliation.
Hmmmmm, I know there has to be some character in popular fiction who would make a perfect metaphor. I just can't place of whom I'm thinking.

They are just bitter because of the sea of scarlet on campus today. It was, to say the least, breathtaking.
There was a lot of it, and it probably got to their heads. More people care about big boy football than little MAC football. Get over it.

We just need to stop playing these minnows. Nothing to gain and everything to lose. Winning against them isn't enough because they don't take care of business the rest of the year. I hope they enjoyed the game.

daveeb, do you currently attend OU? What is the current football culture? Do students not go to the football games at all?

I currently go there. Some students do go to the football games. And then, those that attend leave at halftime. It's free attendance for students, and they can't even get them to go. Most of the locals go to the games.
You see a lot of scarlet on campus on gameday.

I graduated from OU in '02. Made it to most football games. It's funny that people still leave at halftime, no matter what the score is. Do you think bringing in a big name opponent would spur interest?
