Never forgive, never forget.
I still want a pound of flesh for Darkest Day I and II if that gives you any idea.
I can't express in words the retribution I feel is neccessary for the Texas pre game insult.

How about Kirk (that's Herby, of course) and Jessica Simpson (in the nude) singing Carmen Ohio on top of the [censored]house?

Exactly what I thought when I saw this same type of thing on a casual flip to sportscenter in the evening on my way from syndicated reruns of seinfeld and simpsons.
what.the.[censored]?!?!?
They were doing it for the yankees and it was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. The FAKE yankees GM was making [censored] up about who the yankees were planning on pursuing and how they planned on negotiating with certain players? WTF?!?!?! I was thinking about how [censored]ed I'd be if I were the yankees GM. I woulda had stienbrenner get on the phone with ESPN and tell them to cut the plug immediately. Ridiculous.
I cannot agree more with BN27. There is a way to cover sports, and then there is a way to make me want to throw up. I don't watch ESPN anymore for the same reason I've stopped watcing CNN, FOX, and MSNBC for regular cable news... not because they raked the bucks over the coals, but more because they lack any integrity as journalists and their programming is genuinely not interesting to me. If I'm watching the news, I want to know exactly what is going into the new energy bill, not who's outside the courtroom at the micheal jackson trial. If I'm watching sports, I want a breakdown of the offenses and defenses in the SEC and big10 to know why scoring is up in the big ten and down in the SEC this year (great thread by the way), not what TO ate last night for dinner.

What. the. [censored]?
This is the reason I dislike ESPN. Not because they attacked OSU.....because they suck as a sports channel. Who the hell cares about a simulated press conference? Who needs to hear TO's minute by minute schedule? I want to watch sports highlights......I don't want a 24 hour watch on Barry Bonds.
Why should I be "over" ESPN when they haven't stopped sucking ass as a sports channel?

Why should any of us "get over" ESPN?
I should forget the whole Clarett thing because they didn't achieve their goal of getting the football program on probation?
Great logic: 'Oh, you tried to shoot me but you missed .. no harm, no foul. I forgive you.'

In the Northwestern game thread, Jeffcat made post ripping ESPN because Jim Donnan (or one of his proofers) said we have played Wisconsin this year. It seems that folks will go out of their way to point out even the most mundane of errors on their part and blow them out of proportion. In fact, Jeffcat's post was originally a thread he started entitled "ESPN in the gutter again", which was then merged into the NW game thread. When I saw the pre-merged thread title, I thought "Now what?". And then I saw that being in the gutter meant a typo, well, I think you get the picture.
I'm not advocating that anyone forgive and forget. I think it's just time to quit bringing up every little instance of them making an error or doing something we aren't in 100% agreement with.
