Random CF thoughts
1. What's the spread on ND vs. Coast Guard next week ?
2. Hoping T. Tech goes down. This is what you get when your preseason schedule is Nichols St. Louisiana Lafayette and the Merchant Marine Corps.
3. I hate USC, but however many they've won in a row is pretty sick.
4. I swear Syracuse used to be good ... does that make me old now ????
5. This buckeye team is very fun to watch !!!!!!!!!!!! beats last year's Ross 1 yard, ross 1 yard loss, incomplete pass, punt.

I still can't figure out Ross. Looked great his freshman year and sucked every day thereafter. Was our Oline really that bad?

actually, it would aid ohio state's chances for a bcs at-large bid if texas tech wins. notre dame runs the threat of dropping out of the bcs top-12 and, therefore, a shot at a bcs bowl game if those teams immediately behind notre dame continue to beat stronger opponents than notre dame's remaining weak opponents. at 13th in the bcs, florida's loss today, in my opinion, further hurts osu's chances (though osu's chances are still considerable). due to the gator's remaining schedule strength, they were a team that could have overtaken notre dame.
while the human polls (specifically, and most importantly, the usa today poll) are not likely to drop notre dame if the irish don't lose, the computer polls will drop them, as they continue to play weak opponents and the surrounding teams play stronger opponents.

I think if ND wins out against those weak opponents they'll stay in the top-12 of the BCS no matter what. Most of the teams near them in the computers will lose. Florida and Florida State have lost today; and Georgia, UCLA, Colorado, and Georgia Tech should all lose again.
Okie State has defeated TexasTech 24-17 - good for them.
I'm just concerned about beating out VaTech and a 1-loss SEC squad for the 2nd at-large bid.

another random college football thought is that it is a good thing for ohio state that michigan state lost today. msu must beat penn state next week in order to be eligible for a bowl game. of course, psu has its own impetus: winning would secure a trip to a bcs bowl game. disregarding illinois, psu's net difference for their other two away game is 3 points, with the victory being by only 5. furthermore, msu should pose the same threat to psu as northwestern did to psu; although, the spartans' offensive prowess has weakened severly toward the end of the season.
