I guess a ND win would validate how good our team is, but it still doesnt feel like we played the best when it mattered. The loss to Texas will stick in my mind for awhile, because it was a Cooper type loss - losing when you play better than the other team.

I needed my Tibor fix for the day. Thanks!

Actually, even if the 2005 Bucks win the Fiesta Bowl, their record (10-2) won't be as good as the 1995 team (11-2). So, by record, the 1995 team was better, not worse.

They probably also give out a trophy for the winner of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl....
I'm interested in national championships, period. I can enjoy the games and the players and the plays along the way, but in terms of being "special", it's NC or nothing for me.

OK, Is This Year Going to be Better than Last Year
Last year was incredible!
I love being a Buckeye. We had an awesome team and lost two games we could have won.
Based on how we played in the Fiesta, I think we could have beaten USC (most people thought I was crazy for saying it).
So, is this year going to be better than last year?

Don't count out the importance of "that young man" in your sig, either.

Wow, that's a little rough, isn't it? Sure, you didn't come out and say it, but you make it sound like a non-NC year is a ho-hum season or even a disappointment.
I agree that the "what if" game is popular with the 2005 season... What if Hamby caught the ball... What if Houston nailed the long FG... What if the Bucks could score TDs instead of FGs... What if Smith didn't throw the INT in Happy Valley... And the most popular of all: What if Smith didn't miss the beginning of the season.
But, it was a great season with great Buckeye legends that we will never see in the Scarlet and Gray again. There were wins over Michigan and Notre Dame IN THE SAME SEASON! There was an explosive offense that put 40 points on the board on a regular basis during the second half of the season. There was one of the best defenses that I've ever seen with unselfish players who you just have to love. I'd hate to write that off as anything but special.
