Football Buckeyes Lace Up Track Spikes for 2007 Jesse Owens Classic
Relay events to feature football players Saturday in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium
...
Last week at the Drake Relays, three Ohio State football players made their track debuts in the 4x100-meter relay. Freshman defensive back Chimdi Chekwa (Chim-dee Cheek-wah), junior All-Big Ten cornerback Malcolm Jenkins and sophomore wide receiver Dan Potokar joined All-Big Ten sprinter Anthony Cole in setting a season-best in the event at 41.57. The unit will look to improve that mark at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday.
Chekwa, from Clermont, Fla., was an all-state sprinter at East Ridge High School.

I was at the game Saturday and Chekwa played awesome. He's very physical for his size and he seems to have great instincts. Huge upside and another Tressel genius offer.

I also thought he played a great game. I had only one concern about him and the other young DB's, that being that they all seemed to be giving an extra yard on all their stops. I think just because they need to put on some weight in order to make a clean, knock em back hit. Other than that He impressed me

Jenkins made a couple mistakes at safety and IMO its because he is used to playing corner. A few more games and this secondary is gonna be scary. Scott has looked good on special teams and in limited playing time. Chekwa gives us three CB's that are very good.

Agreed, a two-star by scout. People should post a link to his rivals recruiting bio everytime someone gets all worried about an offer to a kid who's not 4.4(Chimdi is listed at 4.67). These times show a lot more, all being school records, the 100 (10.79 seconds), the 200 (22.2 seconds) and 300 hurdles (38.7 seconds). Also how could you not love a corner with the nickname Checkmate

I'm not completely sold on Chimdi's play.
There was a fade tossed his way that should have been caught - Chimdi was caught looking the wrong direction, back to the ball, arms in the air. I thought it was a definite PI call.
I didn't see much of him after that one play.
