Besides the BCS games I have a feeling this isn't going to be a good bowl year for the Big 10. If scum can't beat Nebraska Iowa and Wisky are going to have to be on their games to win. Having 2 BCS teams is hurting all of the Big 10 teams under us, but I guess that just makes us look better. If we didn't make it to a BCS game I think the Big 10 wins all of their bowl games. On the other hand I think we would have a greater chance of losing to Auburn than ND.

Yeah, it could turn sour quickly. when what looks like the biggest lock for the conference turns into a loss (thanks, LLLLLoyd) the Big 10 could end up with an overall losing record in bowl games.
But, you never know.
I know of one "W" for sure!

See NightmaresDad in the "Slow Start" thread - I think that just about says it all. Defense is the glaring omission - you have to be able to defend 3 score leads. There is still hope.

Bump for games played 12/31 - If the New Years parties are anything like normal I won't feel like getting up early to do this tomorrow

QSSGuy could go either way
LLLLoyd vs. Coop and Tressel

Remember how Cooper was great at starting the season like a ball of fire and ending it 0-2?

1988 - Loss to ttun, no bowl
1989 - Loss to ttun, lost HOF (now Outback) Bowl (Auburn)
1990 - Loss to ttun, lost Liberty Bowl (Air Force)
1991 - Loss to ttun, lost HOF/Outback Bowl (Syracuse)
1992 - Tied ttun, lost Citrus Bowl (Georgia)
1993 - Loss to ttun, won Holiday Bowl (BYU)
1994 - Beat ttun, lost Citrus Bowl (Alabama)
1995 - Loss to ttun, lost Citrus Bowl (Tennessee)
1996 - Lost to ttun, won Rose Bowl (Arizona St.)
1997 - Loss to ttun, lost Sugar Bowl (Florida St.)
1998 - Beat ttun, won Sugar Bowl (Texas A&M)
1999 - Loss to ttun, no bowl
2000 - Loss to ttun, lost Outback Bowl (South Carolina)

6 seasons, finished 0-2; twice finished 0-1 and didn't play in a bowl game; once finished 0-1-1. That makes 0-15-1 in 9 of Cooper's 13 seasons. Twice Cooper won his bowl game after a loss to ttun; one season beat ttun but lost bowl, making him 3-3 in those seasons.

And once, ONCE, Cooper finished the season 2-0 (1998) in his 13 glorious seasons. Overall, Cooper finished 5-18-1. 2-10-1 against ttun, 3-8 in bowls. Man, I'd almost forgotten what a dark time it was.

Since Tressel showed up on campus, here's how LLLoyd's boys have finished out the year.

2005 - Loss to OSU, loss in Alamo Bowl (Nebraska)
2004 - Loss to OSU, loss in Rose Bowl (Texas)
2003 - Beat OSU, loss in Rose Bowl (USC)
2002 - Loss to OSU, won Outback Bowl (Florida)
2001 - Loss to OSU, loss in Citris Bowl (Tennessee)

In 3 of 5 years he's gone 0-2. Overall, in five years, ttun has finished up 2-8. Now look at his first six years on the job, when he was going against Cooper.

2000 - Beat OSU, won Citrus Bowl (Auburn)
1999 - Beat OSU, won Orange Bowl (Alabama)
1998 - Lost to OSU, won Citrus Bowl (Arkansas)
1997 - Beat OSU, won Rose Bowl (Wash. State) - Nat'l Co-champs
1996 - Beat OSU, lost Outback Bowl (Alabama)
1995 - Beat OSU, lost Alamo Bowl (Texas A&M)

Over this 6-year period LLLLoyd went 9-3. Complete reversal.

LLLLoyd's 5-6 in bowls overall and 6-5 against the Buckeyes.

Of course, Tressel is 4-1 against ttun and 3-1 in bowls. Twice he's gone 2-0 in the final two games, and we're hoping this year will be season #3. He's never gone 0-2.

It's nice to see the shoe on the other foot, idn't it?
