Buckeyes keep giving Mandel ammo
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...bag/index.html
Why do Buckeye fans continue to email this guy? All he does is pick out the worst of the worst and dumbest of the dumb. It's embarrassing.

This wouldn't be an issue if so many Buckeye fans didn't feel the need to fire off a million e-mails everytime we feel slighted or somebody says something less than flattering about us. The Joe Paterno joke during the awards show a few weeks ago comes to mind. We have the most insecure fan base in the country. I'd be annoyed too if I were a columnist.

That is good stuff. Mandel has to be one of the better internet sports guys out there. He is usually complimentary towards OSU, but the stupid contigent of the fanbase either dont notice or dont care and email him. He is clearly just trying to get a rise out of the fans...and of course they predictably respond.
He is clearly not a jackass. Just smart.

"Stewart, what no one seems to be mentioning is that the BCS was one Ryan Hamby dropped catch from all hell breaking loose. Having undefeated USC and one-loss Texas, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State would be the biggest controversy yet. The BCS got very lucky Hamby can't catch."
I fail to see how this is the "dumbest of the dumb" e-mail. The guy has a very valid point. How many on this site feel that we would have still lost the game had Hamby made the catch for the TD? Being up by 10 is huge compared to being up by six. Not only does it force Texas to score twice with at least one being a TD, it also keeps them from getting the momentum they got from keeping us out of the end zone. That play was the single-biggest momentum turner in the game.

Uh, the game and the missed catch were months ago. It's been talked about thoroughly, and yet, some people just can't let it go.
And Mandel made a good point. It was in the third quarter - it may have changed the game, but who knows if it would have changed the outcome. So why does some guy who thinks the world revolves around Ohio State all the time email a guy who can't wait paint Buckeye fans as way ovezealous that this particular play was the difference in the whole college football season? Dumb, dumb email.

Reading Mandel's article reminding me of all those blown opportunities makes me sick to my stomach...again.
