Easy...the 1997 Rose Bowl, as I was able to celebrate the last game of my years as a student at OSU with my brother in Pasadena. The memories from that whole bowl trip are both hilarious and disturbing.

It SHOULD have been the 2003 Fiesta Bowl for me too. Alas, my mood was dampened by having been laid off the day before, which was also the day that my son came home from the hospital for the first time (after 12 and 1/2 days in the NICU) with a $50K bill.
My favorite memory is, oddly enough, the 1984 Illinois game. This surprises me, as I was there the following year when we beat #1 Iowa. For some reason, being there for the comeback, Byars' performance and the finish was absolutely incredible.
As long as I live, I will never forget turning to my little brother after Byars scored that last touchdown. We were too fired up to high five. We just stood there vibrating, shouting in each others' faces and shaking our fists. One of my most vivid memories is the image of my brother's face, screaming with tears in his eyes.
Unforgetable.

My favorite sports memories:
#1) 1997 Apple Cup. My father and I went to the game at Husky Stadium. A win would send the Cougs to their first Rose Bowl since 1931, Cougar fans all around the state were willing to pay nearly any price to get a ticket. WSU won 42-35 and Cougar fans streamed on to the field as time expired. Fans and players celebrated a day many of us wondered if we would ever see.
#2) 2003 Rose Bowl WSU v. Oklahoma. Even though the Cougs got killed in this game it is a bittersweet memory as it was the last Cougar game that my father and I went to. A few weeks later he had a stroke and in five months he was dead from a brain tumor. Now and again I'll wear one of my '03 Rose Bowl shirts and for a fleeting instant he almost seems to be there with me.
#3) Sept. 3, 2003 WSU v. New Mexico. The game itself was of little consequence, the Cougs did win, but mainly I remember it because it was part of a wonderful two week road trip that I took with my wife and kids. In addition to the game we took them to Disneyland, the Carlsbad Caverns as well as the State Line Barbeque in El Paso. It also was the first Cougar game for the twins who were in utero at the time and were born three months later.
My earliest sports memory:
February 1974 my parents took me to my first Seattle Super Sonic game. The Sonics opponent that day was the Buffalo Braves who had the league's leading scorer at the time, Bob McAdoo. Unfortunately Buffalo won.
Projected future sports memory
2009: WSU v. tOSU in the newly renovated and enlarged Martin Stadium in Pullman. WSU pulls the shocking upset and gets its first victory over the Buckeyes after eight failed attempts in the past. The victory launches a successful '09 Cougar football season which ends with a victory in the '10 Rose Bowl!
