Tressel just keeps getting better and better. He is the McGyver of coaches - take the players you have, utilize them creatively, intelligently, and find the angle you need to beat the other guy.
If it is indeed true that he was choked up after the game, great. This game meant so much to him, to the program and to his personal record, but he never drew the attention to himself this week.
As I watched the game, and as I started to get some respect for Bielema, I found myself thinking how superior Tressel is to other coaches... when Bielema was clearly yelling 'BULL[censored]' at the refs, I thought, wow, the worst thing I've ever seen Tressel yell at the refs is "NO!". Just way too cool.
If he got Pryor to commit today, great, but if not, that's okay. We'll win with TB, or Henton, or Strock or whoever.

I had a laugh at the beginning of halftime of the wisky game when the teams came off the field. JT had a quick interview then quickly jogged off into the locker room. One could tell he jogs a lot and was fired up.
The two cops with him were having a hell of a time keeping up.

Haven't had a chance to read all of today's threads, but JT racks up another 10 win season. Not too long ago in the world of college football, that would be a big deal. It still is to me. This team continues to grow (yeah, I post that every week), but it's the mark of a superb coaching job.

Throughout the entire history of the Big Ten there have been plenty of great coaches. There have even been times when great coaches had the league more or less to themselves; times when the league overall was soft.
Whether or not the league is soft now, Jim Tressel just broke the league record for consecutive conference wins. No coach has ever won more, consecutively. Not even before the 85 scholarship limit.
And it's fitting that the HBO special about The Game will debut on November 13th. That day (if OSU beats Illinois), will be the 3rd anniversary of the last time Ohio State lost to a team that finished lower than #3. Three solid years of not losing to anyone outside of the final top-3: Who does that anymore?
JT, that's who.

I know this is a bad thought to have when we were losing to Wisconsin earlier today but I had to set myself up for the possability we might lose that game. So I started thinking What tressel has done here has been amazing and to get this team to be 10-0 is amazing. Now we've had a very favorable schedule, we have talented players, but we had big time holes and questions on both sides of the ball particulary on offense. So I was thinkin how we were picked to finish 4th in the big ten, and so far we've been a very over achieving team. I told a friend or two we'd run the table and they looked at me like I was crazy but i was showing confidence in them thats all. I really expected losses at Purdue and at Penn State before we started this season and so far they've over achieved probably many of our expectations including mine. Now i realize that this team is just talented and well coached and we can thank Mr. Jim Tressel for that

I grew up in South Fla. , had a high school buddy from Jupiter high play for Tressell @Youngstown (Reggie Scurry)........He told me as soon as we hired him, things would turn for the better in Columbus. Reggie got a Div 1-AA Championship ring under Tressell. One of the first things he told me about him was his preparation habits, and how he gets his kids to prepair....."He is a film Nut".......were his exact words. He also says behind closed doors and in the locker room he can cuss like a sailor, we he is not happy...........lol
