Craig T. Nelson's team in Coach was Minnesota State, not the once great University of Minnesota of the Big Ten Conference. They were a lesser in-state rival, as is my understanding.

apparently it was supposed to be the golden gophers, but they couldn't get permission from the university. Now I see that show in a whole new light.

Tressel's act of thanks irks NCAA
Saturday, December 22, 2007
Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel appreciates the value of classroom success. So he invited his two first-team Academic All-Americans last season, receiver Anthony Gonzalez and fullback Stan White Jr., to join him on a private jet to watch Ohio State's basketball team play in the Final Four in Atlanta.
Both players had exhausted their eligibility and signed with agents and were no longer considered current student-athletes. So nice reward for a job well done, right?
Not according to the NCAA. Ohio State was forced to self-report a secondary violation after OSU compliance director Doug Archie spotted White and Gonzalez sitting with Tressel.

Another ridiculous example of how far the NCAA executives have their heads buried in the sand.

It's currently at the very top of their college football "news headlines" section, titled:"Report: Tressel trip ends in NCAA violation report."

This piece has already gotten as much attention on espin as all the other [censored] that happened at USC.
