Close to the vest, no pun intended. Tressel is known as "The Sweater Vest," after his signature clothing. Speaking of which, has there ever been a head coach whose birthplace is so apt? Tressel was born in Mentor, Ohio, which is like saying Bobby Bowden was born in Dadgum, Fla.

ESPN is currently blowing Les Miles as I type this. I have one thing to say about Tressel vs. Miles:
Tressel 33, Miles 7

I did a little searching this morning, and I came upon some Tressel fun facts.
Youngstown State Years
1986-2000 (15 years)
125-57-2 (68%)
10 Playoff Appearances (67%)
6 National Championship Appearances (40%)
4 National Championship (26%)
Ohio State Years
2001-2007 (7 years)
73-15 (83%)
7 Bowl Appearances (100%)
5 BCS Bowl Appearances (71%)
3 National Championship Appearances (42%)
1 National Championship (14%)
There are a number of things I could say about this resume, but considering recent events, I'll just make one note:
For 22 years of collegiate head coaching, Jim Tressel has been to the Championship game ~40% of the time.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we will have many opportunities to win National Championships.
