The list was probably made while he was still a candidate for the scUM job, and therefore he lost points from the loyal Ohioan voters.

Interesting site. Look at a guy like Les Miles and player opinion and then what OSU players think of Jim Tressel. I was hoping Pete would be on there, but from what I here players love him. Tressel is an impressive guy. So humble and just incredibly workman like in his approach. I have a ton of respect for what he has done and how he goes about doing it

that's a great site.

OSU coach makes rounds at Beavercreek
After getting a verbal commitment from Beavers star Domicone, Tressel drops by school for a visit.

BEAVERCREEK ? When the door opened, about two dozen Beavercreek High School students turned around in their chairs with cameras and cell phones ready.
In walked Jim Tressel, the Ohio State football coach visiting the school while visiting Zach Domicone, and he met a set of flashes.
He made it to the front of the room, where the students asked him to pose with Beavercreek football coach Scott Clodfelter. "Is this a photography class?" Tressel joked.

Mr. Tressel comes to Beavercreek
By Kyle Nagel | Monday, January 28, 2008, 08:01 PM
BEAVERCREEK ? It wasn?t unlike a visit from the President of the United States.
On Monday, Jim Tressel came to Beavercreek. He made his visit to Zach Domicone, the Beavers? quarterback and defensive back whose whirlwind recruitment has ended with a scholarship to play for the Buckeyes. His story is one of the wildest of any midwest recruit, but that tale is for another day.
As it was clear today, Domicone was on the back burner when Tressel was in town.
I had been talking to Scott Clodfelter, the Beavercreek football coach, earlier in the day when he said reporters were invited to the school today to see Tressel come into town. If Tressel had been visiting Wayne or Trotwood, it might not have been such a big deal. But this is Beavercreek, where Domicone is the first BCS conference recruit since ? well, awhile. And it?s a Beavercreek school system and community that watched its first winning high school football season in 15 years with Domicone finishing his senior year.

As 16 yr coach for the much smaller Youngstown State, Tress had made inroads in the smaller high schools to get the recruits the 'big fish' let get away. He built up his network within Ohio, which was one huge reason that Geiger picked him (thank goodness!).
It appears that Tress is not only maintaining his network, but expanding it, by keeping in touch with the smaller schools even though he is a 'big fish' (note - the biggest in Ohio, and as of the last several years, one of the biggest in the planet!). It shows what a class act he is, to visit the high school AFTER he got the verbal commitment. I gotta think that many coaches would cut and run once they had the verbal. I think this shows why Tress is a 'keeper' and OSU will own Ohio recruits for as long as Tressel is at the helm. All this augers well for OSU and the Buckeye Nation.
