Two dropped balls = BCS mess
Just wondering what would have happened if two dropped footballs would not have occured this past year. Hamby in tOUS game against Texas and Lienhart fumble against ND. We would have had five one lose teams laying claim to the Rose Bowl. My take from a somewhat biased view. ND is out cause they were beaten by a team other than one of the five. USC out if you consider SOS and loss to none qualifier. That leaves just three and if you consider tOSU beats PSU on a common field and Texas does some to OSU, then we can only imagine to uproar. Too bad it didn't because it may have forced playoff consideration.

Agreed, the whole team takes the loss not one player. Please refrain from pointing fingers.

- gonzo drops an easy third down pass in the 1st quarter
- smith is scramble happy
- pass is deflected, and recovered for a loss... that loss on the previous is significant, since Huston's FG narrowly missed and may have gone in from a closer distance
- zwick plays well, but makes a bad mistake to scramble
- our defense plays great, and then neglects the RB in the flats multiple times on the final drive
- ginn drops screen passes
- we don't tackle ramonce for a safety on the KR
there are a ton of other mistakes in that game. it's a team game.

Hamby's drop just prevented Vince Young from completing 2 incredible fourth quarter comebacks in one season. He proved that yesterday. After watching last night's game, I no longer think of Hamby's drop. It was Texas' year.
If one act is to blame for that game, it's Troy's acceptance of the 500 dollar check. The Fiesta Bowl showed how good he could have been if he didn't have that over his head at the beginning.

Lets not "what if" this thing to death. It's over and I didn't expect to finish 4th in the country after our second loss to PSU. I'm happy with what our guys put together for the late season run.
