I thought it was strange that he reportedly has a top three of OSU, Illinois and USC and is only planning an official to OSU from those three.

I may be reading too much into this statement but this caught me off guard and gave me the first bit of doubt about Hall ending up at tOSU.

Early playin time doesn't look good for OSU if that is really important to him. Hopefully he is an O. Pace type of guy and will play early because he's that good. Wouldn't be shocked to see him follow Scott to Illinois. Hope I'm wrong.

How do you think he compares to Shugarts/Adams?

Do you think its possible that Hall could start as a freshman at either guard or tackle?
And...
Is Hall playing as a freshman at USC is more likley than at tOSU considering the the talent that they already have Martin Coleman ,Tyron Smith , Matt Kalil , Matt Meyer and 09 commit Kevin Graf ?

I would. I'd also be very surprised to see him go all the way across the country to USC where they don't have a single player from Ohio on their roster, IIRC.

I would be very surprised to see him end up a Trojan considering that he doesn't have an offer from them. The biggest competition is going to be a school like Illinois or Tennessee. We'll see.

Personally, I like Shugarts and Adams better because they are true OT's. Talent-wise, I'd rank them as follows: Adams, Shugarts, Hall, but they are all excellent prospects. Hall needs quite a bit more "polish" than the other two, so I guess that you could say that he has the greatest "uspide" of the group.

LJB said it, but I think its important to re-emphasize that this is a very high bar in terms of ranking OL. Virtually everyone in the nation would take any one of the three in a normal recruiting year. Coming in 3rd to Adams and JB is almost like coming in 3rd to Kobe and Chris Paul in an MVP ranking

No.

Just to note that Cordle started as a true freshman at Ohio State when we were stocked with experience and more highly recruited OL's.
Browning also received a lot of PT in his freshman year.
I agree that it will be difficult to break into the starting line up with the "stocked OL" next year, but based on past history I believe JT and JB can build the case that deserving freshman should not think it impossible or even unlikely to see significant minutes or opportunities to contribute early.

I'm curious if he wants early PT or an early starting job. PT isn't as hard to come by at OSU, since Tressel never runs up the score. If they're ahead, he'll put in the 2 or 3 deep on offense to cruise the rest of the game. If that's the kind of early PT he's looking for, OSU is still a good option.
