By Gary Housteau
Date: Jul 14, 2005
Longtime high school mentor and visionary Ted Ginn Sr. was approved by the Cleveland Municipal School Board this week to move forward with and educational and prepartory academy that will be formed and shaped in his own image. Just how the academy will get off the ground and when and whether or not it will be a member of the OHSAA are still in the process of being determined or worked out.

Can someone with a premium subscription summarize this, and does this have any potential to effect Glenville recruiting?

He's going to open up an academy to help kids (frosh-seniors) get ready for college... with campus living and everything. He won't be coaching at Glenville after this year probably.
And we thought the Glenville pipeline was useful... imagine what it will be like when even more stars come there to get their academics straightened out. We won't have to pass on great players b/c of grades nearly as often.

Wish him all the best. Now, he will be working on the kids to help with academics AND have to fight the teachers union at the same time.

One other thing I left out, it remains to be seen how OHSAA will accept the academy... here's to hoping that they do so OSU can have an even bigger pipeline.
