I do as well, especially early in the season. I doubt we'll have any set-in-stone starters at LB for the first few games. Anyone and everyone will have the opportunity in practice to show they deserve a decent crack at some PT, and my guess is at least the 6 mentioned will do so.
However, I hope they settle into starters somewhat quickly. I'm not a huge fan of rotating too many players. Rush end is one thing, but constantly rotating at middle linebacker, for example, seems like it could mess with a defense's continuity.

Isn't Kerr a Mike? I also agree that Laurinaitis knowing the system will get him on the field and keep him on the field before Grant. However, we will know a lot more after the Spring game. If Grant can flat out play then he will be making plays in the Spring game whether he knows the defense or not.

Random point:
Animal II has the frame to put on more weight and muscle. If he really is 235, he's a lean 235, and he's going to be a big, mean mother by the time he's outta here.

Laurinaitis has it easily. He has more experience to the college level. Schwartz might get some playing time, but he will be redshirted for sure. Plus Marcus Freeman is going to be the other linebacker. I heard that OSU will be no good next year losing 3 good linebackers. That is crap because we have 3 good 1s coming up. OSU should be good this year coming up!

Anyway, I read if you're related to somebody who has played at Ohio State, they will put you on their practice squad. But that doesn't mean you'll dress for the games though. When I go to Ohio State to major in Sports Journalism, this is what I am going to do. I won't stop there, because I will try to dress and make the team.

Reloading
1st - tOSU RELOADS! PERIOD! (We all know this)
2nd - Tressel will have his 3 LB starters named before the first game.
My prediction: AII - D'andrea - Freeman
(could be totally wrong but what the hell, its who I would put on the field!)
3rd - Whomever wins their respective starting spot will more than likely only loose it to an injury! not saying that all the LB's won't see time but JT & his staff does a great job preparing the younger guys for the big time games and selecting the pure athlete from the average. Measurables are all we have at this point in time - I don't put much stock into Measurables.
AII vs. Grant
Lil Animal II gets my vote (only because he had some PT last season) and I've seen more of him, but Grant has the ability to show up and knock the [censored] out of anyone trying to invade his area! (Speed killz!)
No worries! keep up the interesting posts. Looking forward to NLOID and this coming season!

The "Grant" we're talking about is Larry Grant, the 5-star JUCO LB, not Grant Scwartz, the incoming ATH. Besides, if he has playing time (Scwartz) he can't redshirt barring injury...

Grant has incredible potential, but right now that's all it is--potential.

Laurinaitis has what, 2 career tackles? What makes you think he tackles with any better form than Grant? If you want a guy who can tackle with form look no further than Ross Homan.
I think Homan will start, but if not, then Grant. Laurinaitis has not impressed me yet... probably because he is too small.
