Or he made a mistake. Sure he should be punished and we can be upset with him about it, but claiming he tried to ruin Tressel's name is about as intelligent as claiming Clarett was challenging the eligibility ruling again for the sake of others.

Troy Smith isn't Tressel's friend..more like his pupil. Yeah, that's the same thing as Bollman cheating.
Uh, and I never said Bollman was trying to hurt JT. But his cheating does hurt the program and JT.

I agree. I just was responding to the "tries to ruin" line.
Looking back now, I wish Bollman had been reprimanded harder for this (if only cuz he's let us down as an OL coach), but that is due to what I've witnessed in the 2 years since then. This was 02, and the problems were just beginning to build for our program back then.

Now we know who the sacrificial lamb might be if it comes to that. Like BFS I wished it happened a bit ago so we could have gotten Peterson earlier! Dang Bollman, I was really looking forward to him getting fired, but dang success against Michigan and the Bowl game. Of course I will trade success over that any day!

So, how did the Dispatch reporters get information that's in Bollman's personnel file? I would have thought that items in a personnel department file would be exempted from FOIA requests.
But it's really a non-story. It's good that Morris never even practiced with the team. It's also worth noting Geiger's strong language in February 2003, which was even before MoC had the incident with things stolen from the car he was driving. Fresh off the NC, AG knew how damaging any small violation would be in terms of public perception.

After reading the article, I don't see how you came to the conclusion that Bollman was trying to cheat. Yeah apparently he made a mistake by calling the tutor, but he states that he thought the Morris family had already hired the tutor. It doesn't sound to me that he intentionally tried to cheat.

According to YSUBuck on BN, Tim May just called in to 1460 to "clear up some of his story."
Concerning the loan: Morris put Bollman down as a reference for a loan. Bollman had no idea that they did this.
The Morris family wanted to know where to get a good car. Bollman told them about where he got his car.
FWIW anyway
