While I certainly share the frustration with our offense there is a bit of a mystery here. Bollman is an experienced coach. As soldier pointed out we now have on our staff John Peterson who is credited with the remarkable Oline Miami had the past few years (and now coaches TEs BTW).
Now we posters at the Planet are all agreed that we - with our total lack of experience coaching Oline - can see something obvious that Bollman, Peterson, and JT are incapable of figuring out for themselves.
Can it really be that simple?
And let's not forget that three of our OL from last season developed well enough the last three seasons to get drafted into the NFL.
Again, I am not saying there isn't a problem and that the way the Oline is performing is not part of that problem. But let's not jump on a comment about sleds made by a Fullback from 30 years ago and say "Aha, what fools we have for coaches!"

Kirk stated on the BN $ board that Ferentz said Iowa does not use sleds and he has never used one in his coaching career...

The only difference is that iowa's OL fires off the ball and controls the line of scrimmage. osu's certainly does not.

But that also leads one to believe that the sleds are not the source of the issue... back to blaming our horrible coaches.

I didn't blame our issues on the lack of using sleds. i have questioned a weak scheme with lackluster coaching the entire time. i still do.

IMO its not the scheme but the fundamental knowledge of the scheme...seems as if the line is on different pages on some plays. When the line checks the call up front and someone is lost...that equals trainwreck.

I think I agree with the recruiting comment. We have too many walk-ons in the two-deep. Not to dis their contribution or desire, but we can't keep whiffing on our Oline recruiting. And I think the last couple of years have been great recruiting-wise and points to a more rosy future.
