i think everybody is writing them off just b/c of that 9 point clunker against scUM, but the offense in general was ridiculous
Joe Montgomery (averaged like 7 yards a carry) getting injured against Minnesota and being inside the 10 three times and not scoring a TD against scUM puts them behind 1995 and 1998. The 1996 offense was outstanding the first 4 games and 8 of the 9 games to start season. Offensively, the Penn State game was a thing of beauty. Notre Dame shoud have been worse. That offense struggled the last three games. I believe the offense only scored one TD against Indiana and had problems moving the ball against scUM and Arizona State.

because they made every 'must have' play, without fail. while '02 was maybe not the greatest offense in terms of scoring, (though before MoC got injured they were darn near a juggernaut, scoring at a 38.7 PPG clip through the first half of the season,) when they absolutely HAD to make a play, they did.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

Tatum came to OSU as a RB. Not only that, he was one of the top RB prospects in the country out of HS at the time.

It's not a list of the most clutch offenses in OSU history, it's a list of the best overall offenses in OSU history. While the '02 offense certainly had the talent with Krenzel, Clarett, Jenkins, Vance, Gamble, Hartstock, etc., they were far too inconsistent as far as production goes to be deemed one of the best in the history of the football program.

I voted for the '98, mostly because of the scUM and Texas A&M wins
My Vote:
1995- Best Offense
Hoying 3269 yds passing
Glenn 1411 yds rec
George 1927 yds rushing

Poor defense has a lot to do with the "anemic" 23 pts against UM.
Four turnovers killed the Bucks against Peyton Manning and the Vols
