If they introduce their new gizmos and/or graphics slowly, people will be a lot more accepting of the changes. If Fox tries to completely re-invent football broadcasting, people will hate it.
Remember when they first started diplaying the score and game clock full-time? A lot of people hated that. Now it's standard and is actually very annoying when it's not on the screen. Same goes for the yellow first down line and LOS line. These are staples of football coverage now.....
Mic'ing the coaches could be really fascinating, as will the in-depth look at bands, pep squads, etc.
I'm looking forward to the coverage. What I think will be interesting is to see how much coverage ESPN dedicates to it. Since they and ABC ar eone in the same, they hype their own product. Since Fox is a rival, it'll be interesting to see how their coverage changes when the BCS games roll around.

To me, this might be a positive change...ESPN hypes their own stuff so much that they continually re-air stories over and over and over again...I don't know how many times I've heard the Charlie Weiss dieing kid story, the story about Butch Reynolds teaching Buckeyes how to run, and about the Texas linemen bowling, once is enough, and much better than once a day |
