Leaf Helmet Stickers (Green or Black?)

I hate using this as an example, but if you look at scUM's jerseys and helmets on TV, they look almost black, but under bright light conditions their true color (no, not "[censored]" ) comes out, which is a dark blue:



Bottom line is that darker colors can, and many times do, look black or almost black when in fact they aren't black. And the dark green on the leaf stickers can indeed fade to black after a long time (they have on my car).

Check out my pic on page two or three unless you don't think those are the stickers the team uses but they are labeled as the "Authentic" helmet stickers.



I do agree that the photos provided are inconclusive.

Further, we KNOW the inside of the leaves are white ... what do you see?

How about the dark part of the leaf compared to the stripe? Looks pretty close huh? And the only way to be sure is to compare the leaf to something we KNOW is black ... the stripe.

What I'm saying is there isn't enough pixel information in this graphic to make a correct call. The white part of the leaves are not white because 2 different colors are competing for limited pixel space ... same with the black/green part of the leaf. The only part of this picture that supports green over black is the slight greenish 'cast' around the leaves ... and that could come from a variety of sources ... lighting, TV camera, etc. etc.

If players (current or former) are saying the leaves are green, then I will trust their opinion. Of course, isn't Hayn a former player? Time to get that guy on the grassy knoll.

EDIT: I hope you get to take some pics after our victory vs Michigan this season. That will end the debate (if it hasn't already been decided), but just being there will be even better.

Any amounts of C, M or Y added to the formulation would only make the black "richer" ... in essence, darker.

ABSOLUTELY!!! ^^^and further more here is a color profile from AJ's Helmet in the BRIGHT ARIZONA SUN!

Leaf C=81% M=61% Y=68% K=82%
Stripe C=76% M=68% Y=66% K=87%

So if you know anything about color profiles then you can come to the following conclusion:

according to my "friend" Mili and some other crack pots on BP we now have a GREEN STRIPE on our helmets. HELL! We better scrap those new jerseys now since the GREEN stripe on the helmet won't match the stripe on the jersey and pants!

you do have that in the picture, but you used a sample from the shade. What is the color reading of that fully lit leaf that looks kinda green?

It would be similar to the BLACK stripe! But since your falling into the propaganda setforth by Mili I'll say this:

there's not enough of the GREEN STRIPE in the sun to take a sample, but I will look for another photo to find the GREEN STRIPE and GREEN LEAF for you. So, I guess you think we have a GREEN STRIPE too?

I know what you meant and I know you know color profiles...I'm was "playing the game". So, if you follow Mili's and his crack pipe friends' theory, we have GREEN STRIPES! Here is a shot of ROY HALL from the MICHIGAN GAME DIRECTLY LIT UP BY THE SUN!

Stop the Presses! We have GREEN STRIPES on the HELMETS! Don't buy that new authentic jersey just yet!
