I remember Cooper coached teams petering out late in games. I cannot think of one game since Johnson came where our team was out conditioned by anyone. His methods were different...but they worked.

Though I cant imagine Tressel is going to allow this team to have any sort of drop off in its conditioning |

It had to be Tressel in spades. IIRC, Kennedy technically did not report to the football Head Coach. That was changed by the time Johnson was hired.

This is actually a pretty big deal. Do you know what Tressels record is when leading at halftime? Last time I checked, hes only lost once. I have the Iowa game taped from this year, saying something crazy like 31-1 when leading at half. So I have to assume its about 37-1 currently? A great S&C coach makes a world of difference. All the people that brag about OSUs ability to come on strong in the last half of the season, or even the last half of games - thats all attributed to the S&C coach for having the boys physically prepared to go 12,13, 14 games and not be worn down and ready to quit. |

I think that has as much or more to do with the coaches making phenomenal adjustments in their schemes than with conditioning. Dantonio was the master of making halftime adjustments to the defense. The 2nd half scoring in 2002 was astonishing. |
