I see what you're saying, and this is going to sound pretty pathetic, but Alex Smith is good, but any other year he wouldn't have cracked the Top 10 (and yes, I know he still was drafted number one ).
You're also right that Meyer went undefeated at Utah, and went to a BCS game and won, which is certainly impressive. However, their competition was not that great, and their BCS bowl opponent was a mediocre team. It's all the luck of the draw, and Meyer and the Utes certainly got the better end that year. I'm not disrespecting Meyer or Utah. However, I think that it wouldn't be totally farfetched to say that maybe he and the 2004 Utah Utes were overrated.

I'm not saying that this is who I would want, but think about a guy LIKE Joe Glenn at the University of Wyoming. 17 winning seasons in 20 years as a head coach, three championships. Strong values, great staff, decent recruiter (remember, he is coaching at Wyoming). Had a tough year last year, but it was his first losing season in like 15 years or something. Basically, he has a similar philosophy as JT, and he is successful. Yeah, he, has never coached an "elite" program, but then again, neither had JT. I don't know that there is anyone that I could name right now, especially in the huge national programs, that I would say, "yeah, thats definately the guy." I think any program is better off with a guy like Tressel or Glenn, though, in the long run.

How about....
How about we just hire Andy Geiger back to go find us another winner?
Otherwise, we might get stuck with Glen Mason. He's not bad guys, but come on.

This is a hard decision because I don't even want to think about JT leaving or retiring.....
I would have to go with Nick Saban.....

Urban Meyer has 2 out clauses in his contract with UF after I believe 5 years. One is for the head coaching job at Notre Dame, and the other is to go back to where he grew up and coach for OSU.
That is from some contract insider websites that my roomate knows through Husker Power Hour.com

Put me on the Urban Meyer bandwagon. He obviously considers OSU to be one of his "dream jobs" and the guy knows how to win. Don't forget that he made Bowling Green awfully good before leaving for Utah.
