If you were looking for ND to win this poll you forgot to add the word obnoxious.

It depends on your defintion of "fan". If you count anyone who self-identifies as a fan of team X, I doubt anyone touches Notre Dame. If you make a quantitative cutoff, say people who self-identify as a fan of team X, and can name at least five starters on said team, I think it's quite likely that OSU has more.

The fan proportion at the Fiesta Bowl is a good indicator of who has better fans (by most accounts 60/40 in our favor). We pack more people into a game we've been to three out of the last four years than you chumps can get for arguably your biggest bowl game in a decade. Nice "national" fan base.

I think ND has a lot of "older" fans from the 1960's/70's and haven't really attracted as many younger fans. They went about 8 years with not much success.
Not every Cathoilic now roots for ND like they used to. Just my honest opinion. I would guess it's pretty close with OSU having a slight edge. |

Another way to judge fan base is to look at how much team products were sold. As I remember it, OSU has the largest take from merchandise so there for, the largest fan base.

A better question might be as between Texas and Ohio State... I know the Burnt Orange Texas hat shows up all over the place (Including the Michigan v. Nebraska Alamo Bowl)

Yeah, but that was in Texas..... Honestly Chief, this isn't the type of re-emergence that you should have. |
