Actually, while they don't stick the officer in the car, they do spot city-owned or impounded vehicles in high theft areas and stakeout the scene.

Considering I am pretty sure you can buy "drug paraphernalia" at a store on High Street---yeah having it clean makes a difference. The charge is quite subjective. For instance, a scale is considered "drug paraphernalia" under Ohio law...but you need a little more evidence than pure possession of the scale to get a conviction. To be sure, it is sort of a convoluted statute.

But my larger point is that I would not be surprised if the drug test was done for two reasons 1) it basically ensures the charges will be dropped and 2) it clears the two big guys of any doubt and there are no rumblings that they use, the court took it easy on them, etc.

* Offensive lineman J.B. Shugarts had his case continued this morning regarding his charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Fellow Buckeye Mike Adams had the same charge dismissed on Monday, and their lawyer said then a test revealed that a pipe found in their car had no traces of drugs on it, so the Shugarts charge should eventually be dismissed as well. It just hasn't been yet.

Sorry guys, I was told his case was being dropped as well. They said the test was negative too so I'm not sure what is going on now.

what is the rule for kids receiving federal aid? if you get caught with drugs your aid is pulled? is it not something like that?

I was just reassured by my guy that "JB is good." I asked if the case was being dropped and he said "Yep."
I know what that article said but my guy is a close friend of JB so I'm not sure what's going on.

Yeah something like if you get caught under the influence or in possession you can't receive federal aid.

I don't know the exact details, but its keeping some of my friends from getting federal aid.

federal aid is NOT an athletic scholarship. None of this will effect thier scholarships.
