Kick Returners
From a recent Columbus Dispatch article...
Quote:
Two return candidates were out with injuries: receiver Brian Hartline and safety Jamario O'Neal. Tressel also has mentioned incoming freshmen Brandon Saine, James Scott, Dane Sanzenbacher and Taurian Washington as possibly being tried there.
Scott is participating in spring practice but did not return kicks yesterday.
"We're going to have lots of guys to compete," Tressel said. "They'll all get measured against Teddy, but that's life."

District Track Wins for Sanzenbacher

Ohio State University-bound Dane Sanzenbacher didn't have any trouble repeating as district champion in the 400 (48.64), which helped play a part in Central finishing as district runner-up with 72 points, followed by Whitmer with 69. Sanzenbacher also ran on Central's 400, 800 and 1600 relay teams that posted victories.
|
The weather on Saturday was ideal as Dane posted wins in the 400m with a 48.64 sec as well as anchoring wins in the 400, 800, and 1600 m relays. He had been previously timed at 48.29 sec in the 400 m and he seems to be on tract for breaking the 48 sec mark. I love this kid, he just keeps going. The thing about track is it's individual effort and it's his will to better the times that took him to the state meet last year. His father said that Dane loves to compete and is driven to better his performance of last year. I'd say he's going pretty well in that direction. With the Regionals next weekend in Amherst, OH and the State Meet the following weekend in Columbus, all Dane needs to do is run consistently as he has so far and stay healthy.
Let's not forget the other three relays events that Dane participated in this year with help from Hogue, Arnold, McIntosh and Krieg. Winning the 400 relay in 43.52 sec put TCC ahead of last years winner by a half second.
According to his dad, Dane will be on campus June 18th and will be ready for summer football camp. Running to get in shape shouldn't be a problem for this kid!
Dane loves to compete and with Youngstown State our first game on Sept 1, he will find himself competing again for a place on the football field.
Is anyone reading this?

Anyone want to compare his speed to Gonzo's when Gonzo first arrived?

There are several tOSU WR's mentioned in the 2003 Ohio State Track Meet. Ted Ginn Jr. ran in the same heat as Brian Hartline in the 110 m hurdles. Jamario O'Neal in the 100 m and Tony Gonzalez anchoring the winning 4x400 m relay with a time of 3:17.01.
We'll need to dig for other times for Gonzo from the Cleveland PD for 2003. Gonzo ran the 400 m as does Dane. Dane currently has his best time in that event at 48.29 sec.

Dane will not play in the North-South Game, will room with Brandon Saine, and will likely wear #12.

Dane may be disappointed but he has a lot invested in track this year, I like Brandon and Dane as room mates. They have a lot in common. If one of them installs an oxygen deprivation tent, it's deja vu all over again...
And , so I googled altitude tent and this what they look like.

As Anthony Gonzalez, the Ohio State wide receiver who sleeps in a CAT tent and, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, also studies and plays his Xbox in it (he's not married, obviously), reportedly said, "It's very difficult to explain to people that you sleep in a tent."
|
I could have used one of these when I was in college.
