Starting quarterback Todd Boeckman did not throw any touchdowns or interceptions. He reportedly had a long pass to Dane Sanzenbacher that set up a touchdown run by redshirt freshman tailback Boom Herron.

“Our receivers played well today. They’ve been doing great. Dane Sanzenbacher, DeVier Posey, those are guys who have been playing pretty well. It will be exciting to see how our offense evolves and who they will use because we have a lot of weapons.”

Tressel talked about some of the play makers on offense.
"Dane Sanzenbacher jumps out at me," Tressel said. "He made some very impressive plays. Brian Hartline did as well. Boom Herron was probably the leading ball carrier, although Mo Wells looked pretty solid. We wanted to see Boom run it a lot because he's going to be a contributor.

Good to hear he's stepping it up. Long ball to Dane. Gee I thought he was a possession receiver. Good news as Aug 30 approaches. It would be nice to see him live catching a few long balls this year. Can't wait for this offense to run onto the field this year. Getting pumped

Anyone catch this piece about the WR's? Those words by Malcolm Jenkins about Dane getting the best of him speaks volumes.

"Dane Sanzenbacher jumps out at me, made some very impressive plays," said OSU Head Coach Jim Tressel after yesterday's Jersey Scrimmage.
According to defensive back Malcolm Jenkins, who practices regularly against the OSU receiving corps, Sanzenbacher is really, really tough on defensive backs. He has good speed but what really sets him apart is his savvy as a receiver.
"It's usually me going against Robo or Brian Hartline or Dane Sanzenbacher. Dane is probably the guy who gets the best of me out of all of them," said Jenkins.
"He's smooth. He has great releases, great hands, he makes plays.
"If I had to compare him to somebody it would be Gonzo. I think he's real talented and a lot of people are going to be surprised by him this year," said Jenkins.
OSU senior quarterback Todd Boeckman shares Jenkins' view of Sanzenbacher.
"He runs great routes," said Boeckman.
"He's one of the best route-runners on the team. He has great hands and is getting better each and every day, knowing the system better every day. I'm excited at where he's at right now.
"He had a big play today (in the Jersey Scrimmage) over Malcolm. If you run great routes you're going to get yourself open and make plays. Gonzo always ran great routes," Boeckman said.

Ohio State sophomore receiver Dane Sanzenbacher moving up on depth chart

Columbus- Sophomore receiver Dane Sanzenbacher is the star of camp. Ohio State coach Jim Tressel can't stop talking about him, so it was no surprise when Sanzenbacher was working as the No. 3 receiver with the first-team offense, ahead of Ray Small, during Monday's public prac- tice.
"Dane from a functional standpoint, techniquewise, has studied the game," Tressel said. "He's no longer a guy trying to learn the plays, he's trying to learn how to beat you. He's jumped up."
While senior cornerback Malcolm Jenkins usually takes on veteran receivers Brian Robiskie or Brian Hartline in practice, he admitted after Saturday's scrimmage that Sanzenbacher is his toughest matchup.
