Dane doesn't have great straight line speed, but I thought he was VERY shifty last night when he had the ball. Only thing he needs to do now is learn how to not go head first into safties and he'll be golden. Here's hoping to Sanzo bein ok!

Most recent depth chart seems to indicate that Dane is out this week due to injury...get well soon!

Hope he does get well soon because he has great hands - which we need since our other guys have dropped some easy catches - and he seems to find open spots easily. I love the guts he plays with but taking on safties head first as a smaller dude is only going to lead to more injuries.

Get well soon Sanzo!

Need to admit I was wrong about Dane breaking out or not before this week's game. Terrelle seemed to find him, and he was open in key spots. The fumble hurt, but Dane's health is more important than that possession, so wipe that out, and hope Dane comes back just fine and soon. He seemed to be on the verge of a huge game before he had to come out.

Get well soon Sanzo!

Did he get a concussion from that hit he took! He gave me a headache! That was some hit he took from 3 of them.
I ended up with one of my special headaches Sunday night,no joke either.
I get them about 4 times a year & this one was bad. Icebag under my head ate enough excedrin to kill a horse, the light & sound from T.V. as I was trying to listen to the Steeler game had to go. I was not sure about work, but it started to go away about 6:00 A.M. or so,I was awake with it.
So I can imagine a little how he felt.
Get better Dane,we need you on the field!

I love this guy. If you watch when he plays, both Beckman and Pryor have gone to him. He is a go to guy in tight yet limited opportunities. His speed is fine, his routes are excellent, he is shifty....the problem is his size and he is fearless. He has taken some big time hits.

I hope he recovers and learns to play less recklessly and under control. Let's pray Great Dane gets well. This kid is a player!

Dane has always been a big game player. We were hoping for a few more catches on Saturday before the clash of the 12's. I understand that he does have a concussion and it's 8 days before he's back in action. Missing the Boilers will be disappointing but he should be back for Sparty.

Dane, you'll have your day. Put an extra piece of padding in the helmet and run a few more sideline patterns.

Or just get down!

OR, perhaps he needs to try The Leap since every running back seems to be doing it. (Some RB is going to get CLOCKED jumping over someone soon...)

I wouldn't suggest "The Leap" to Dane...he's a tough dude, but that's a good way to get really clocked too. He just needs to get down. Head injuries are nothing to fool around with.

toledoblade.com -- Sanzenbacher, Herron out

Quote:
COLUMBUS -- Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday afternoon that sophomore wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, a Central Catholic graduate, and freshman running back Daniel ?Boom? Herron will both miss this week?s Big Ten game against Purdue after suffering concussions in Saturday?s win at Wisconsin.

?Well, we won't have Dane or Boom (for Purdue), because typically after head injuries, it's just at least eight days,? Tressel said.

Pryor lined up alone in the shotgun as the Buckeyes faced a third-and-five from their 45, and Wisconsin sent a blitz at Pryor, but it developed from a formation he had not seen when reviewing film of the Badgers.

Pryor instinctively adjusted, and threaded a strike to sophomore wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher for a 17-yard gain and a first down. Two plays later the Buckeyes scored the first touchdown on their way to a difficult 20-17 victory.

?I mean from the snap, you knew he was going ? he knew where the hole was, he knew he could hit Dane from about 17 yards and I?m thinking, ?he never did that once in his life ? we didn?t rehearse that.?? Tressel said. ?I think he does not only process when he?s trying to learn, but he has a good feel for things around him.?
This is just the start.

His track events in HS did NOT include hurdling. Who started doing that McGuffie. He's going to get clocked. That I understand, even a lightweight like me () at 210# wouldn't try that in a game.
