My daughter goes to Central and has know Dane since GS. So that's my Central connection, however I went to the arch rival school on Bancroft. I love the TCC football program and have followed it since '05. Dane has his name in record books all over NW Ohio. That year TCC won the state was Dane's best as a Junior.
He had 40 receptions for 842 yards and nine touchdowns, 40 solo tackles and eight interceptions in seven career playoff games in HS He's a diamond in the rough.

If Dane continues to work on his route running and blocking in this offseason he could break out next year. I'd like to see him around 20-25 catches and 350-400 yards 3-4 TD's going into his Jr season where he might be the go to guy. Alot of talent coming in will make it interesting. The depth should be amazing this year.

I agree, he'll emerge as a stronger and more seasoned player. With one season under his belt the first year jitters will be gone and things will improve. More touches would be nice to see. So would seeing him put on a few pounds and doing some strength training. He could be 185 to 190 with more upper body strength easily. The new class will offer an edge in the height and the speed department. Posey will be a force, but he'll need a season to work things out. Stoney may be a TE before he's done and another good pass catcher. Remains to be seen. Dane will be back, watch at 40 sec and at the end. Good summary of the season.

The kid is just plain smart, he can out think opponents. In high school he was always in the right place at the right time. I wish him the best and hope he breaks through in 2008!

This is from the Dave Biddle piece on the progress of the young WRs. T-Town may have more reason to pay attention this year. Coach Hazell talking about a possible WR set with Dane, Hartline and Brandon in the slot.

However, the news isn't all bad at the WR position this spring. Sophomores Dane Sanzenbacher and Taurian Washington have been impressive, especially the former.

"I tell you what, Dane has done an unbelievable job this spring," Hazell said. "I'm really pleased with his progress and I think he's going to have a phenomenal year for us.

"Taurian, these last four practices, is looking like he's going to be able to give us a lot of help. And with Robo being out, he's had a lot of reps and he's growing tremendously. He got (his ankle) rolled up on during practice, but before that he was looking good."

Hazell explained who would be the Buckeyes' starting receivers if they had a game this week.

"Well, we could go with a different formation and put Brandon Saine in the slot, put Dane out at X and Brian Hartline at Z. That would probably be the way to go."

Hartline talks about his progress as well fellow teammates, Dane and Robo

With spring practice in full swing and the spring game just around the corner, Hartline understands the importance of his own progress and the hard work necessary to prepare for the upcoming season. However, despite focusing on his development, he also sees the great strides being made by his teammates.
"Dane Sanzenbacher is doing a really good job at making great strides in his game," Hartline said. "There is a point when you get to college and lose your swagger and become not as edgy. As you keep playing, you gain an understanding of the speed of the game and things slow down and you learn how to make adjustments on the run. Dane is doing that and is seeing things a lot quicker."
"For Dane and a lot of the other young guys, they are getting to the point where they can run and react so much quicker. Those are the kind of things we look for at practice and get excited about."

I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does next year. I remember comparing him to Gonzalez before last season but I think Santonio Holmes may be a little more accurate. I'm not predicting he'll be as good as Santonio but he has that kind of potential.
