This class is the shot in the arm we need;aggressive, fast and nasty.I was real proud of him and TP last week and can't wait to see the progression!

Note: Most sports reporters (and media) believe that they have to pound on something in order to make a name for themself (and to sell more papers/increase number of viewers).
Yeah I saw that game and i guess i could not believe what i was watching. Maybe i am one of those people who "continue" to be in denial i guess. But you would think that our players are tired of hearing all what they are saying and try to correct that.

Doesn't matter who gets bumped, but Brewster needs to stay on the field.

Brewster is a beast. Last week he would get a good block on someone and then try to block someone else from his knees. The O-line needs that kinda spirit.

I was thinking the exact same thing, and I would have to think Cordle moves to RG, because he will still be needed to make most of the line adjustment calls. Person is out, I bet.

I would still like to see us rotate the 2nd O-line in one series each half, no matter what, though. It always seems to be effective.

I think Brew played an ok game. It will be interesting to see how he does agaisnt Whisky, Penn St, and TSUN. He seems to be on the ground a lot, chop blocking maybe, just something I noticed. He also got blown by a couple of times yesterday but looks very promising for sure.

OK is being nice. He got burnt a few times that led to sacks or pressure on Pryor. I hope it's just a learning lesson

I've always heard that Center is the toughest of the O-line spots to learn. Brew missed Spring ball so he was not as far ahead as his coming in early would lead you to believe. He brings a great passion for the game and a nice level of nastiness, and I think his mistakes are more of lack of experience than abilities. The coaches have a lot of faith in him to stick him in the fire his Freshman year, he's going to be a stud.

Not sure you guys watched the same game I watched...I came to this thread specifically after rewatching the game and specifically really watching the o-line...

I was very very impressed with Brewster...I thought he did a solid job against Troy, but this week was excellent...Yeah he had the sack he gave up, where the guy gave him a swim move, and I think that there was another play, were the guy lined up over Person, and stunted to the 0 gap, but Brewster had already taken off to the LB and Person didn't touch the guy...In zone blocking that would be Brewster if that is the playside guy, which it looked to be, but the play still works if BSmith blocks that guy, because Person had cleared the other DT out and Brewster the LB, but Smith tried to help Person on his guy instead of going after the guy that was unblocked...

But what I see from Brewster is being the fastest guy off the ball...Obviously he should be because he is snapping the ball, but he fires off much faster than the rest of the line...

He also gets to more linebackers than any other lineman...It helps when he doesn't have guys over him, but watching Cordle when he was at C, he wouldn't always get teh backside backer, let alone the playside one that Brewster gets to on times...On one of the plays inside the 10 on either an option or rollout for TP, don't remember which one, but watching Brewster I was amazed that he got out to the LB that was lined up over the playside guard, and the play was going outside the TE...

Also he doesn't just block one guy, let the guy slide off and stop...he continues to keep going blocking another guy, and at times just hitting the guy a little bit is what springs a RB for another 5 yards or so...

But we had more holes right up the 0 and 1 hole this week than we have ever had...

Also in zone blocking it should be call for some movement of the DT's as there are lots of double teams chipping off to backers, and Brewster when he hits a guy already engaged there is quite a bit of movement and then he comes off real quick and hits the backer...

As for being on the ground, he seems to like to cut block inside the tackles alot when there is a play going the opposite way, or trying to open up a cutback lane...

I am all for bringing Rehring back and putting him at LG and putting Cordle to the bench...

I think the top 5 lineman should play, and I think brewster is one of them...How they want to put out there is fine, but they gotta put the top 5 out there...

I think the Oline probably goes back to Boone/Rehring/Cordle/Person/Browning now that Steve is back...but I think Brewster plays at least half the snaps at center with Person and probably Rehring rotating in and out. That's what they should do anyway, Person has been playing better finally and Brewster is not experienced enough yet to bump Ben or Steve out completely. It's not a bad problem to have huh?

Might be...

Boone-Cordle-Brewster-Person-Rehring

Cordle has played almost unbelievably well at guard.
