I think he has displayed great feet and looking to get to the second level more since the switch.

I haven't rewatched the Minny game yet so I won't say much but from what I did see the last two weeks I've been MORE than happy.

If he had always played guard I still think he would be playing well, but given he has played center that is where I get the most impressed.

I was very very impressed with Brewster...I thought he did a solid job against Troy, but this week was excellent...Yeah he had the sack he gave up, where the guy gave him a swim move, and I think that there was another play, were the guy lined up over Person, and stunted to the 0 gap, but Brewster had already taken off to the LB and Person didn't touch the guy...In zone blocking that would be Brewster if that is the playside guy, which it looked to be, but the play still works if BSmith blocks that guy, because Person had cleared the other DT out and Brewster the LB, but Smith tried to help Person on his guy instead of going after the guy that was unblocked...

But what I see from Brewster is being the fastest guy off the ball...Obviously he should be because he is snapping the ball, but he fires off much faster than the rest of the line...

He also gets to more linebackers than any other lineman...It helps when he doesn't have guys over him, but watching Cordle when he was at C, he wouldn't always get teh backside backer, let alone the playside one that Brewster gets to on times...On one of the plays inside the 10 on either an option or rollout for TP, don't remember which one, but watching Brewster I was amazed that he got out to the LB that was lined up over the playside guard, and the play was going outside the TE...
I think the top 5 lineman should play, and I think brewster is one of them...How they want to put out there is fine, but they gotta put the top 5 out there...

I disagree. I watched the game at the 30 yard line with a bunch of x-players in the same area . I kept hearing Brewster,Boone,person and Browning as the ones that need to improve. I saw Brewster get burned a few times. I like the way he attacks when he's blocking but, he got knocked off on his driving technique.
Yes,I agree with you as he's one of the top 5 linemen but, then again, top 5 is a question on the way they've played . He will be a star with more playing

We will just have to agree to disagree, I hate to criticize guys too much, so I won't because the kid is out there giving it his all, but it just seems to be that I would look for alot more out of Cordle other than good line calls...

We can agree to disagree, but he was getting plenty of movement, and getting up to Lb's quicker to any lineman we have had here since Mangold and he just doesn't stop till the whistle blows unlike some other we have on the line...

by far, he's the only one that goes 100%. He's going to be a star once, he gets everything down. I'm really starting to question that great shape for the lineman. Most of them look tired as heck

Agree... and it's a lot less pressure for Brew when someone gets by him and there is a very mobile QB who can minimize the mistake. I saw one play yesterday where he got beat and you could tell how disappointed he was by his body language. Next play he was awsome. He's learning. This pup has and will continue to bite. He's a good one, for sure.

yeah, we're not gonna take out boone or cordle. person has been playing well and browning hasn't been bad but he like person does make mistakes from time to time. I still think it'll be the original lineup from the first 3 games with Brewster playing 50-60% of the game unless they just keep Brewster as the starter and move Cordle to RG and Rehring to LG and rotate Person in instead of Brew.

Brew has been a man on a mission...he is the same mean SOB that we all saw in his senior highlights and that is translating well to the field. The talent of this '08 recruiting class is absolutely filthy.

Yeah, I've always got that impression of him as well. He just doesn't like Defensive players the way he attacks them. I dunno, maybe his Jr. high girlfriend cheated on him with a linebacker or something, but the young man seems to like to punish the poor SOBs

Most people will be focusing on quarterback Terrelle Pryor on Saturday night at Wisconsin, but another true freshman also will have his hands on the ball on many of Ohio State's downs. Pryor will be taking snaps from center Michael Brewster, and offensive coordinator Jim Bollman, who also coaches the line, said he's comfortable with that arrangement.
"In many regards, he's got great football sense and a lot of natural ability up there," Bollman said of Brewster after practice yesterday. "That's obvious, or he wouldn't have been given some of the opportunities he's been given."
Just as the coaches have been impressed with the composure Pryor has shown in rising to become the starting quarterback two games ago, Bollman said they have been just as impressed with Brewster, even if his rise was due to injury to left guard Steve Rehring.
"He might tell you, 'Oh boy, I need to learn a lot of this and that,' but the older guys are there helping him out," Bollman said, referring primarily to junior center Jim Cordle, who moved to left guard. "Still, you've got to go in there and snap the football, and do all those kinds of things, and there is a degree of poise and maturity that has to go with that."

The fact that freshman Mike Brewster will be in the starting at center against Wisconsin on Saturday night is maybe more of an accomplishment than the fact that freshman Terrelle Pryor will be starting at quarterback.
The top offensive line recruit from the state of Florida last year, it's worth a reminder, as offensive line coach Jim Bollman pointed out Wednesday, that Brewster didn't play center in high school. When future first-round NFL pick Nick Mangold played center as an OSU freshman in 2002, it didn't happen this quickly and he had played center in high school.
Not only that, Brewster enrolled at Ohio State in January for winter quarter, but was forced to sit out spring practice while recovering from right shoulder surgery necessitated by an injury suffered in his last high school game.
Then the older linemen made him shave his head during preseason ball.
And then he started the fourth game of his college career against Troy two weeks ago, basically two months after working in full-time practice as a full-time center for the first time.

Don't have the chance to rewatch the game this week, but I do know that on Beanie's first touchdown run it was once again Brewster getting to the playside linebacker and opening the hole...

This is nearly impossible from an offensive lineman standpoint...I have been there played center, and you hardly see guys like Person and Cordle do it when they are over top of them, or even the Tackles do it when they have to get inside the DE to get to the them, but I have seen Brewster do it multiple times the last two weeks and spring guys for big runs...This kid plays the next 4 years at C and I would not take him out...He is an all american in the making...
