Tressel has always been about having multiple players to rotate and keep his guys fresh. In the case where we get into a knockdown dragout style football game we want all the players we can bring and as posted before you know LW wants to wash that taste out of his mouth. Plus who cares about a money year if you can have a money GAME ala Russell last year and win over the NFL boys on national television considering half of the bucks games are on bigten network which not even buckeye fans can watch.....to shorten my point.....
IF HE'S HEALTHY ENOUGH TO PLAY HE'LL PLAY AND PLAY WELL!!!!

I wonder if he has kept that 4.6 speed after all this time.

I definitely think that if he is healthy enough to play, he should play. I have little doubt that Lawrence would trade an entire redshirt year to play in the National Championship, especially with a chance to redeem last year.
You have to pull out all of the stops for a championship game. If he gives the team just a little bit better chance to win, he's gotta play.

Considering Wilson's situation I'd have to think that it would fall under a Medical redshirt. Is one play in a game considered a complete game? Going off Mili's description of the medical redshirt situation even if it counted toward toward 2 games would make Wilson eligible to recieve one even if he does play (2 games =15%). Plus with his size and speed and the leadership that he provides to our defense, he would be clutch to have in our DE rotation. I think if he's back and been going full go for a few weeks, he'll be in the game. That's a scary threat coming off both sides, I seem to remember a pass threat combo that gave us a lot of problems last year.

The rules for a medical redshirt have changed to include 30% of games, rounded up, so that's up to 4 games in any 12-game or 13-game season. But any partipation after the midpoint of the season eliminates the possibility of a medical redshirt, per the NCAA rules. So if he plays in the title game he could not get the medical redshirt.
But if Lawrence figures that he will be entering the 2009 NFL Draft, he wouldn't need the medical redshirt year anyway.

just my guess... but you only get to play for a National Championship so many times in your life... .. so how could you blame him if he blew a year to play for the ring
