Is it worth going to the Illinois game?
I have the chance to go to the Illinois game, but there's a lot of hoops to jump through in doing so. I've only been to one game (Miami, OH 2005 @ The Shoe) in my life. I'm hoping to get some tix to another home game this year. So... I want to go, who would pass up the chance to see the Bucks, right? But... vs. Illinois? I can't imagine it's going to be much of a game.
I'm kind of leaning towards saving the money and trying for Penn St., or THE Game. What do you think? Need a little help. Thanks!

It won't be worth it. You're better off letting me have your tickets.

It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Be a ture fan. The opponent doesn't matter, if you have a chance to see your team then take it.

There is a significant portion of the population that would give almost anything to be able to see one Big Ten game of any kind in person...let alone one in our beloved stadium with our team, our band, and 100,000 screaming fans. Conference games are NEVER gimmies either...even if the opponent is weak, and Illinois has stuck it to us before (and no, they won't this time, but that's beside the point )
NEVER turn down a Big Ten game in person if you have the means and availability to go...each one is a great life experience, regardless of the outcome.

I thought Illinois was an away game this year. (maybe I'm misinterpreting that portion of your quote)...In any case I get the meaning of what you're saying. I'd jump on an chance you get to see our Buckeyes in person, especially during a season that could turn out to be one of those truly special years. Grab the tix, then let any other possibilities work themselves out.

Illinois is a great road trip. The campus is pretty decent, the stadium is nice, getting in and out of the game is a breeze, the Illini fans are usually very friendly (unless you're a drunken ass but that kinda goes without saying), and the bars the night before are awesome. Don't pass up the opportunity to attend a game there.
