Rate a Position...Part 1..QB
We are doing this on another forum i'm apart of, so i decided to bring it here. For each position you have to pick an Overrated player, underrated player and the best player at the position. This is for college only, and for the 2006 season.
The first position we will do is QB:
Best QB: Brady Quinn - hate to say it but its the truth.
Overrated QB: Chris Leak - this is only for now. He may have a huge year this year and finally live up to all the hype. As of right now he has been a big bust in college.
Underrated QB: Drew Tate - not alot of people outside the B10 know about this kid. He is a real threat and very very good.
The next position i will announce tomorrow.

Best- Troy Smith...yes, I am a homer...but there is honestly nobody I'd rather have under center.
overrated- Chad Henne...has yet to win a single big game. scUM lite doesn't count.
underrated- JaMarcus Russell...I think he's gonna have a big year.

Best: Troy Smith--Quinn is the prototype dream of NFL scouts, but if I have a big game to win, give me Troy Smith all day, every day.
Overrated (Tie): Chad Henne--Not trying to be biased here, but the kid gets solid publicity and hasn't done jack. 0-2 against tOSU, 0-2 in Bowls.
Reggie Ball--mistake waiting to happen on every snap. Absolutely dynamic for spurts...then dismal.
Underrated: Tyler Palko--more of a personal pick here than anything else. I just really enjoy watching this kid play. Gutsy with little to no support around him last year.

Best: Troy Smith - We're going just off of college and in college mobility wins
Overrated: Drew Tate - Last year's projected best offensive player in the B10
Underrated: Kyle Wright - Despite Miami's offensive woes....I think it was more coaching than ability

Best: Troy Smith-If he was 3 inches taller he'd be a gauranteed 1st pick in next year's NFL Draft.
Overrated: Kyle Wright-He's getting waaaaaaaay too much preseason hype. He boosted his stats in games like Wake Forest and Duke yet played poorly in big games.
Underrated: Drew Tate-I expect him to give us a very hard time in Kinnick this year and should finish with nice stats.

Well, Iowa definitely underachieved and we completely dominated them but Drew and Iowa finished the season well.

Best QB: Troy Smith - He's not the Heisman favorite, but I think he'll do what he does best-- comes through in the clutch. Besides Quinn, Brian Brohm is the real deal.
Overrated QB: Jordan Palmer (UTEP) - The only reason he's even mentioned is because of his famous Heisman winning brother. He's terrible. His biggest claimed attribute? His arm strength... which looked weak in comparison to Toledo's Bruce Gradkowski, who they played in their bowl game loss this past year (though Bruce was one of the best mid-major QB's in the nation last year, he shouldn't have looked THAT dominant over a fellow hyped mid-major QB).
Underrated QB: Drew Weatherford - Did REALLY well as a frosh at the helm of FSU's offense when it seemed God was taking his wrath out on every other QB on the team. If he can avoid a sophomore slump and increase his TD to INT ratio, I think he could be a real darkhorse for the Heisman. I also considered UCLA's Ben Olson and MSU's Drew Stanton
EDIT: Too many picking Henne for most overrated, so I changed it up... hahaha
