Best RB: Adrian Peterson - If it wasn't for him being hurt through a good part of the season, he'd have been up for the Heisman again.
Overrated RB: Jamaal Charles - No offense to the Longhorn fans, but I think you'll see teams gunning for him this coming year now that Vince Young is gone. I know for a fact that the reason Charles had so many yards against us was because we were keying in on VY and I'm sure the same thing happend with a lot of their opponents. Look for a sophomore slump for JC. Also considered Steve Slaton (WVU) and Thomas Brown (GA)
Underrated RB: Darius Walker - ND wouldn't have won all the games that they would have without him. One of the VERY few backs that put up solid rushing numbers against our D last year. Solid little runner that I wish would have committed to OSU over ND a few years ago. That said though, you could really take your pick here between Albert Young (Iowa), Antonio Pittman, Garrett Wolfe (NIU) and Tyrell Sutton (NW) for an underrated back (funny how most are in the Big 10...)

Did you also know that Charles had all of 26 yards on 10 carries against us? He did squat...

I simply cannot agree that Walker is underrated. In fact, considering the pub he's getting in preseason mags, I'd put him in the overrated category, or certainly on the cusp of it.
He's a decent back, don't get me wrong. But he's also not the back he's being made out to be. Likewise, take Quinn and the passing game out of that offense (as you are willing to do with Charles at Texas) and ask yourself how good Walker would be.
I admit I was more than a little surprised at his performance in the Fiesta, he is a patient runner and seems to play within his limitations (Which I consider to be an asset).

Best- Peterson by a nose, but Lynch is very good too.
Overrated- Hart
Underrated- Kenny Irons of Auburn. This guy is one of the best backs in the country.

OK, splain this to me...
Hart and Henne, guys who have had some of the best numbers in the Big 10, are overrated.
OK
Does that mean the Big 10 is over rated?
Does that mean that when our defense twice stopped them, it's because they weren't really very good?
If Hart and Pittman have similar numbers after a season of running against defenses from Big 10 schools, does that mean that both are over rated or only Hart? Did the other defenses play harder against Pittman than they did against Hart?

First, a player who throws for 5,000 yards in a season can be overrated IF he's recieving pub like someone who threw for 10,000 in a year.
With that said, Hart put up those numbers TWO years ago and Henne has proven to be a decent/good QB BUT some put him above your Troy Smiths, Drew Stantons, Drew Tate's, etc. etc. That is something I dont agree with.

That is no reflection of the Big 10 being anything. I think it's a INDIVIDUAL case by case basis.

Huh? It COULD mean that, or or defense was THAT much better.....maybe it was just a bad game, or two......etc. etc. Why does it have to be so cut and dry?

That first sentence seems to be under the premise that Hart and Pittman recieve the same amount of attention, and I VASTLY disagree. What is underachieving for one isn't necessarily going to apply to the other.

Best- Peterson- To put it best, the only way I'd ever try to tackle him was by getting down real low and sticking a leg out...
over rated- Mike Heart, its simple he just isn't on the field enough and doesn't have big games when Michigan needs it.
Under rated- I'll have to go with Pittman on this because he's not mentioned ANYWHERE on the preseason Running back lists... That's just a crime for a kid who ran for 1,300 yards.
