Am I missing something? Sidney Rice was the SEC Freshman of the Year last year for South Carolina. Prothro plays for Bama. Rice is receiving plenty of hype and is expected to leave for the NFL this year. He redshirted in 2004 after getting injured in pregame against UGA.

The Recivers make all the plays when the ball is poorly thrown. Stop watching espn and do some of your own research.
The reason I said Calvin Johnson is overated is because I have seen him as #5 best Reciver on many peoples lists, when he deserves better. Heck go onto espn then college football then look at the top recivers video. I am tired of all the praise Quinn gets. Yards = him good. |
Without going back and looking at the Fiesta I can remember Jeff dropping a wide open pass. Also, I've done more than my fair share of research and I agree that he's overrated. He's a good WR but not All-American caliber to me....especially not 1st Team All American. |

Yes, it does.
You can overhype even the best. LOL @ not being able to be hyped more than "being the best."
For example: Adrian Peterson. What if people started saying he was the second coming of Barry Sanders & Walter Payton? Would that not classify as being overhyped?
Before you come back with something along the lines of "that isn't relevent to this situation" I'll end with this. The individual who put that may feel that he's the best but he's getting too much praise considering his talent level, something YOU really cant argue with since it's his opinion. You might not like the logic he's using, but there are instances in which it makes sense. |

I've never seen him compared to any legends. I think I've seen him compared to Mike Williams and projected to be a top 10 pick. If we're talking exclusively about college WR's and the sites rank them for college only and he's ranked the best then he can't be overrated.

First, it was an example, not specifically to be compared to what is going on in this particular instance.
Second, he can be considered overrated because you can think he's the best but not necessarily as good as people are making him out to be. It's a very basic thing to understand. Someone being in agreement with him being the #1 reciever this year doesn't necessarily mean they agree with everything else that is being said about the reciever. | |
