What Will Be the Buckeyes' Record in 2006?
Well, now that the 2006 Spring Game is in the books, it's time to predict the Buckeyes' record for the upcoming season.
In 2004, LordJeffBuck took off the scarlet-colored glasses and predicted an 8-4 season (with an upset win over Michigan); as you might remember, the Bucks finished 8-4, and were victorious (again) over Michigan.
2004 Poll Results
In 2005, LordJeffBuck predicted a 10-2 "near miss" season, with close losses to Texas and Penn State; of course, LJB hit the nail on the head again, as the season played out just as he had predicted.
2005 Poll Results
For 2006, LordJeffBuck predicts that the Bucks will go 12-1, and win the NC - will he be right yet again? What do you think....

I agree with you, 12-1 with a national championship.
We have a tough schedule. At Texas, at Michigan State, and a night game at Iowa. Although im confident we beat Penn State and Michigan at home, they both could still be tough.
If we lose a game, it will most likely be early in the season, probably at Texas. Tressel's teams always get better as the year goes along, and I dont see any team in the country going undefeated this year, let alone 2.
My heart says we go undefeated, but my head says we lose at least one. However, I love our chances to go undefeated if we do go into Texas and win.

I voted using a negative contrarian position.
Whatever I choose, the Buckeyes fate will differ marginally (based on past experience). So I am going with 13-0 and the BCS screws us over in some currently unfathomable manner.

John Junker says, "Look, we know it's not technically the Fiesta Bowl this year because of the double-hosting scenario, but frankly we're sick of you Buckeyes coming here every year and trashing our hotels after your bowl wins, so go somewhere else for a change."
The Fiesta committee then chooses Notre Dame and Miami for their title game, which inexplicably ends in a tie since neither one can ever win a bowl game in the desert.
I agree with LJB. I believe the OSU defense handles a rookie Texas QB in Austin. My best guess for the stumble is that the secondary is picked apart by dink-and-dunk plays by one of the experienced Drews in a road game, either Drew Tate @ Iowa or Stanton @ Michigan State.

It's also possible for tOSU to go 12-1 without the NC and not be screwed by the BCS. For instance, if both Texas and a strong SEC team go undefeated.
It's very unlikely, but I felt obligated to point out the possibility.
