I agree, and I question whether Kerr's game speed will match that of Schlegel's. And neither this a photographer/fan (who saw him live) nor the hawaiian (talking down to a fellow non-expert fan rather than debating) will know until we see him suit up in September. I'm not sold on his production at IU, nor what I saw this spring.

I view Kerr in a similar fashion to A Smith... I believe both can be solid starters at their position, I believe they lack the ideal measurables to keep more talented backups off the field as the season progresses.

Taos called for Carp to play full-time DE with Freeman starting in his place.

you're probably right, I merely remember carp + de = taos. I still hold it was a bit of a surprise to see how often Carp lined up there.

Absolutely. He was a better pass rusher than I anticipated. He out-willed some of those OL and other times his presence was enough to open the door for someone else.

Taos called the pass rushing aspect for sure...just not the personnel issue.

It might have happened more if we had not lost Freeman for most of the year.

My observation of Laurainitis not looking natural, was a nice way of saying that from reviewing the last two games of the season - he got neutralized (eaten up) by blockers often before he had any meaningful pursuit.

I understand that you are sticking with Laurainitis at SLB, but I watch and re-watch these games as much as the average poster on this board - so despite the fact that he was a freshman, he was certainly not a playmaker in there.

I know that it is hard to compare a true freshman to guys like Hawk, but at this point, I would not make anyone outside of Freeman a lock at any of these positions. In fact, I've heard from some OSU backers that are even more maniacal than me that Laurainitis to MLB is highly likely this season.

It's not a dig on Laurainitis to say that you think he may be better suited for MLB, is it?
