Anyone here remember our two-time Heisman winner?!

I'm blown away by how few folks went with Archie Griffin. Two Heisman Trophies and nearly 3 miles rushing and he gets dissed here.

I know...I know... it's his size. He's too small for the modern game, right? Wrong! If Arch is too small, then Marshall Faulk is too small. And Barry Sanders.

Orlando Pace over Archie Griffin... by a landslide? Puh-leeeze!

Alonzo Spellman, before he went nuts with the Bears, seemed like one of the most dominating players to ever play for the Buckeyes. I got scared just watching that guy on TV.

Mega,

No one is dissing Archie. However, most people are more comfortable with our backs than our line, so looking at the question asked in the thread, many of us feel we would rather have line help (Pace, or Parker, or Hicks) than another back. If we sucked defensively, you'd get more votes for Tatum, Stillwagon, or Spielman, probably.

Okay, Lion. I accept your reasoning and will calm down.

But I remember #45 with such affection for the thrills he brought to Ohio State football that I feel personally wounded when he doesn't get his props. Orlando Pace was the pancake king and made us all proud, but nobody brought glory to the program the way Arch did. I doubt anybody ever will.

For me, it was a hard choice between Pace and Archie. But in the end, even though Archie is "da man", I went with Pace as he would improve both the running and passing game.

i too went with Pace. nothing like a dominant force on the O-Line to help break in Zwick.

We could use a big bruising back...

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie (another Heisman would be nice as well )...
