Im still confused as to how little Posey was integrated into the offense.. I have no doubt he deserved to be there with the other 5 star freshman WRs in his class, yet he was the only one to barely see the field..

Just my opinion, but I dont think our staff did a good job utilizing him this yr.. I dont buy this "learning the system" stuff... what is so complex about our system compared to Alabama, ND, Georgia, Southern Mississippi, that those schools all found ways to get their 5 star frosh WR the ball, but we cant?

I agree. He probably could have been used a bit more. I think the thing to take into consideration is the conservative nature of Tressel. He went with possession type receivers, and we really only went deep to Robiskie and Hartline. I think it's just Tress' nature.

I'm looking forward to a more open offense next year, and especially in 2010. I think we'll see a lot of Stoneburner at TE giving us a nice receiving option from the TE spot. Posey will be a beast in 2010 IMO. That will be his HUGE breakout year. I think we'll finally see some offensive innovation (lot's of Lamarr Thomas motion, play-action, read option throws, Jamaal Berry in space). I hope at least.

I think he could have been utilized more, but he's still young, and hasn't shown the flash of AJ or JJ yet.

Stonum has done little. Baldwin has had flashes but had 300 yds and 3 tds. Same with Aldarius Johnson. Shoemate didn't play. Buckner produced less than Posey. Surrency 212 yds 4 tds. Key caught one pass.

Bama and Georgia's WR corps are lousy, and Posey was nowhere near Green or Jones' level coming into this year. He had the potential to become special and hopefully provide a spark this year as a 3rd/4th wr, but it will take time.

Maybe this question can best be answered by the Quarterback, whom after all, directly controls where the football is going.

I really hope Devier takes this offseason coming up very seriously. IMO nobody has established themself as the go-to, big-play guy for next year a la Boston, Glenn, Galloway. Devier has a great opportunity along with several others.

I remember last year in the rose bowl it was the reveal of Joe Mcknight but they are different positions. There is still no reason why he hasnt played all season after scoring in the first game. Maybe hes just not ready and the coaches are getting him ready for next year.

Or maybe you need to pay attention. He's played plenty. He just hasn't had many balls thrown his way.

Lets keep in mind that Bama, Georgia, ND, etc had pocket passing QB's with plenty of experience under their belt before this season...so comparing Devier's situation to some of those other 5star wideouts is a bit unfair.

Pryor to Posey will be a familiar combination next year. I see him stepping up into that WR spot with Robiskie gone. This year I think, Devier and the other WRs were the victims of the QB transition. Once TP gets more comfortable with the passing game, Posey will be lighting up the scoreboard. The key will be how well Pryor develops as a passer next year. All indications are that he'll be fine.

I'm more concerned about pass protection from the O-line. If he has to scramble to avoid a sack, we'll see more passes similar to those that Dane caught. Posey could be on the receiving end of some of those. Play action is another story.

Totally agree. There is no way that any other true freshman qb in the nation could have played as well as Pryor did. After the bowl practices, the spring practices, summer drills and fall practices, I expect Pryor to be a much smoother passer, and hopefully Posey and co. can showcase themselves as well.

I'm more concerned about pass protection from the O-line. If he has to scramble to avoid a sack, we'll see more passes similar to those that Dane caught. Posey could be on the receiving end of some of those. Play action is another story.
I am not as concerned as you are about the O-line next year, which should read something like....

Adams-Cordle-Brewster-Boren-Shugarts

I think that this line is gonna be an upgrade from this year with the right side of the O-line being significantly better. Secondly, Terrelle is gonna be at a new level being the undisputed leader on the team.....he seems to be the sort of guy who feeds of responsibility and will inspire the rest of the team.

I met Mike Brewster the other day, and he was confident that they were gonna be really good next year, and GREAT in his junior year. I believe him! Get used to hearing Posey's & Sanzenbacher's name being called on the field!

I'll tell you what will help Posey next year.... Someone that can step up and pick up were Beanie is gonna leave off. I think Boom is that guy but I will be surprised if Hyde isn't a factor also to spell Boom. An effective running game will sure take the pressure off of Pryor to work to Posey. Personally I'd love to see Posey in the slot but the way sanzo plays will make it tough for him to break out ther.
