I think that a reciever becoming the "go-to" is more than "stepping up." It all boils down to a recievers relationship with its QB. Bobby Hoying had his Galloway in 94, Glenn in 95. Joe Germaine had his Boston in 98. Krenzel had his Jenkins in 02-03. Troy had his matured Santonio Holmes to ease his maturation at QB.

Ultimately next years #1 WR target will come down to his relationship with Pryor in the off-season. He will have to show a connection in the route running, as well as the ability to catch a sometimes under/overthrown pass. I don't see Devier doing this likely until the 2010 season. I would venture to say next years #1 will be Hartline.

I've heard Hartline is likely to declare, which would lead me to believe that Sanzenbacher would be the guy.

Over the summer it was Pryor to Posey. That relationship is still strong.

I disagree with both Hartline or Sanzenbacher being the go-to guys, Posey has better skills than both of them, and has a better relationship with the QB as well. Hartline and Sanzenbacher are possession WRs, but Posey has more of a complete package with speed and catching ability that those 2 don't have. Those 2 are good, but not as dangerous as Posey is, especially when he has a budding relationship with the star QB.

And Hartline should DEFINITELY come back to college next season, he's not ready for the league yet! He's a very low round draft pick like 4th round is being generous! Go enjoy being the number 2 to Mr. Posey and earn at least a pick on the first day.

Remember we have a freshman coming by the name of Duron Carter, I think he can possibly be the number 2 guy....I think Posey WILL be the number one dude.

There will be a need to be balanced with depth at WR. I'd prefer to see Pryor passing to all of them and not focusing on one as a "go to" guy.

You won't unseat Sanzo as the slot receiver. We'd better build some depth there though. With Robiskie leaving that leaves the #1 spot open for Hartline to step in, Posey as a backup and Taurian Washington as the #2. Carter and Flash will be in the mix as backups in the slot or to the #1 WR.

I do agree with us needing depth at this position, and also agree with us not focusing so much on a #1 guy. But Hartline isn't a primary WR, he's more of a second man when we need hard yards through the middle. Posey is a guy who has the speed to go down the field and he runs really good routes as well. I don't know if the frosh are gonna get as much playing time with the amount of WRs we have. We've also failed to mention Stoneburner and Torrence in the mix too. I do see a starting lineup of Posey and Hartline on the outside and Sanzenbacher in the slot. But Lamaar Thomas is gonna be pushing him real hard at that position because of his speed and big play ability. Fields, Jackson and Carter are gonna see some very limited time as frosh I think. But Posey has the ability to be one of the greats at tOSU at WR. Especially with his best friend being the star QB.

Much as I did with Kosta Koufos last season in hoop, I look forward to seeing Mr. Hartline's name on the draft boards this spring. And for pretty much the same reasons.

Hope he is picked high and represents the Buckeyes for a long time in the NFL.

I hope you don't hold your breath waiting to see his name come off the boards, every site I've seen has him going in the 4th round, at the highest! He'll go high alright, as in 4th, 5th or 6th rounds. He'll get drafted based off of going to OSU, having a good work ethic and he's a team player. I think he more than likely comes back because regardless if he goes this year or next he's a 4th round guy, he may succeed in the right system in the NFL. My fault, back to Mr. Posey

Much love for Posey but Ray Small is still apart of this team and I don't see Taurian Washington or Duron taking his playing time next year. Our top 4 will most likely be #1/2 Posey/Hartline, slot will be split up between Sanzo and Small. I see Small returning, theres really no other viable option for him. If he was a fresh/soph, I would view it differently.

He hasn't gotten the looks because;
A. Robo and Hartline and Small are veterans.
B. When TP became the starter, we went to less passing.

Does any of this change, now?
