Just got home. There were a bunch of people there. 35K sounds about right from looking into the stands, most of the lower bowl was filled. the autograph lines were insane. 12 tables with about 8 players at each oone and the lines were so long that you were only able to get one table of autographs. Practice was pretty vanilla, but that was to be expected. Pettrey has a monster leg I watched him boot a few kickoffs out of the endzone and what looked to be a 60 yard field goal. They brought in lights on the Northwest side of the stadium and did a lot of kick kick and punt return drills. I remember Ginn, Mo Wells, Jenkins, Gonzo, and Russell as the returners. They did did one on one receiver / DB drills. Ginn looked great and so did Robiskie. I know it's just one practice, but you can tell he is going to be a great player. Hartline burned Anderson Russell one time and looked good overall too. The crowd was getting into the practice with the OH-IO and Lets Go Bucks chants and Kickoff OH-IOs. Toward the end of the practice they started 7 on 7s and and then put 1st, 2nd, and 3rd etc. teams against each other without hitting. The Band made a guest appearance a few minutes into that and got a standing ovation from the crowd. I didn't get to stay until the end, but those are some of the things I noticed to give whoever wasn't there a small recap. I'm sure others will be posting thier observatioins soon enough and I'll post more as I recall other things. I really do hope they continue this in years to come. It was a great time.

I don't know if any of you participated in the autograph thing, I took my boys so it was a must.

I will preface my comments with 1 hour allowed us to get to one table, then about half way through the line to see TG2 (kids were bummed, but there weren't any identifiers that I saw as to whom was at the end of each line).

The line we did make it through, Datish, Gholston, Josh Kerr (and I think his Mom), Jon Thoma (yes, dammit I had to look that one up), Ross Homan, and a couple of other dudes that I didn't recognize and that need to go to handwriting class.

I will say this, of that table Datish (guns) was the one that really seemed to be enjoying it, not that anyone was mean or seemed to not care, you could just tell he was having fun. His face lit up when my 6 year old walked up with his football and the biggest toothless grin you have ever seen

Josh Kerr, and his Mom right behind him (feel free anyone if I am wrong about that please correct me) looked to be enjoying themselves as well. Thoma, seemed to just be soaking it all in.

Gholston DAMMMMMMMMMM he is big!

If anyone could tell me who the other two were at that table I would appreciate it.

We only go to stick around for about 4 of the 5 minute sessions (kids have school tomorrow ya know and as it was we didn't get home and get to bed till about an hour after bed time).

If I had to guess at attendance I would say 25 to 30k.

Wonderful evening though, awesome weather, and the smiles from my children made all it it well worth while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and ekeen is right, from what I saw. Small is going to be very special.

Just got home as well. Thought it was a great time for the fans. The whole autograph thing was sort of a fiasco. People were crowding, etc. I was lucky enough to get Tressel, Smith, and Gonzo to sign some pictures. Those 3 were at the table in the S/E corner.
Thought Pettrey had a big leg, put a couple pretty deep in the endzone. Thought Ray Small ran some nice routes as well. Pretty cut and dry as stated, but it cured my itch a little for the next 12 days.
Thought the band was a nice touch and the crowd was festive.

Is it 9/2 yet??!!

Sounds like they were going by number (Datish - 50, Gholston - 50, Homan - 51, Kerr - 52)

So the other guys were likely some of these

If you say Thoma was there also, the other two guys must have been Johnson and Lukens.

BuckEyeDr could go either way
Robert Rose made the biggest impression on me. He just seems to have that presence about him. 2nd/3rd team OT's had no chance. I can see him getting meaningful minutes into this season.

About 25-30K sounds about right for attendance.

Band made an appearance as well.

I figure about 65%-70% of A deck was filled excluding the south stands. My Guess would be 20-25K people. Of course there were plenty of people in B deck, but it wasn't sardined like normal games.

Good turnout in my opinion
