I think Patterson and Mobley are both around 270-280 around this time in high school. Big DEs and play compliment to the NG inside. While I think Nathan can get that big, I think it's going to be gradual through conditioning. Kudla was I think around 240 in high school, 260 when he checked in, and about 275 when he left here. If Nathan comes in at 260, I think it's going to be very similar to Kudla.
PS: if anything, the offer to William may have came because of Mealer=Michigan will lead to Koger=Michigan. However I think Williams is good enough in his own right for an offer. Perhaps Tressel just didn't want to see another Ohio kid who bleeds Scarlet and Gray slip away...

This is a special and unique year, we should all try to appreciate that.
Now, Williams I just have loved from the beginning.
And this get is a very good one, indeed!
Congrats, Nathan!

Mobley is only about 15 lbs. heavier than Williams right now...and Nathan has the frame to either stay there and play the VIPER spot or add weight and slide down if needed.

Okay. I heard the "viper" talk and that reminded me of Carpenter (who didn't get quite that big if i remember correctly).
While I think he has the frame, rather I agree he has the frame, I dont think this detracts from the Mobley talk. Unless I'm missing something else.

Like I said before, I see Nathan in the combo lineman position like Patterson and Barrow. However, if he stays around 260-270, I ca see him staying at end and just being a pure end that rushes the quarterback and pursues.
Edit: Considering our limited schollies and defensive depth, you have to be an incredibly gifted player to get an offer this early this year. This speaks volumes in my opinion.

Congrats to Nathan!! A great athletic big man!! As mentioned above to have an offer this early is amazing. I am glad the young man jumped on the offer.
