This is their official position. In past years, they've said the same thing and then had tickets become available shortly before most of the games. Hopefully that will also be the case this year.
FYI, I will soon be merging this into an existing ticket forum thread.

usually during the week before the game.... just keep checking back. I used to get tickets that was when I lived up north.

I took my sister to pick her non-conference tickets up today.
29D for one of NIU or Cincy. That's way the hell up there. At least it's in the Shoe!
36A for the other game. South stands overlooking the tunnel! 
Once her loans go through, I'll find out where the season tickets are. You'd think a single ticket for a grad student would be pretty decent, but who the hell knows. |

I'm a Junior and I got 11A for NIU, 9A for Cincy and somewhere in section A for the season but the woman at the ticket office wouldn't tell me where it is because I havent payed my quarter fees. I also got lower bowl Illinois tickets.

You may want to cover that barcode. I don't know a lot about that stuff but I would think someone could use that to get into the stadium in your place.
