Greatest Ohio State Players To Ever Wear That Number
After ESPiN came out with their list of college football's best athletes to wear each number, and failed miserably to give #45 to Archie, I got to thinking that I should create a list of the best buckeyes to wear each number. This project took much longer than I thought it would, but it doesn't matter, because it will now give us something do until opening kickoff next weekend.
I'm going to post each number set over the next couple of days and see what you guys think. Feel free to debate my choices and add whatever statistics and accolades to the lists that you can find. Also feel free to decide a new order for the honorable mentioned players and even let us know if you think Cris Carter should be the official #2 over Mike Doss.
One more thing to explain I'll post the entire list in this thread and then create new threads for each set of 10 numbers as the days go by, unless the moderators feel it would better to just keep all the threads into one. Also to catch up I'll start by posting the numbers 1-10 as well as 11-20.
Finally, hopefully I've done a good job in trying to gather the greatest players to ever play at tOSU and hopefully these upcoming threads will inspire some great memories and discussions about our famed buckeyes! I know this project has really helped me understand and realize just how rich our history is at tOSU and hopefully it will help those other youngsters out there like myself become more familiar with the former greats, as well as provide great refreshers to the older fans!

I'd put Gamble ahead of Germaine... he was irreplaceable at corner during the '02 NC run.

I forgot to mention this as well, so I'm sorry to have to pick on ya Jwins, but I was hoping to keep the discussions in the threads that show the stats, records, and list the honorable mentioned. Maybe this thread could be locked to avoid any further confusion. But of course also, thanks for the opinion, just maybe move it to the appropriate thread.
Also I want to mention right here that in the threads the honorable mentioned players are in order, so feel free to debate them as well as the player that should deserve to be known as the best to ever wear that number.
